Wilshere was class that game, he's got that directness in him, made a lovely tackle on Hleb!
I think his foul on Zigic was revenge for the face full of elbow he had earlier in the game.

Arsène refuses to defend Chamakh saying 'I'm upset with the penalty. There is no reason for him to go down.'

Yes Arsenal nice 3 points at home with about 6 key players missing. Chelsea are struggling at the bridge and are just missing 2 players

My opinion of the game today, Arsenal had more possession and chances however most of their efforts were either blocked or comfortabley saved.
Zigic took his goal well and i thought we deserved it as we started to knock the ball around.
Now the controversial (Martin Atkinson you knob) stuff:
Penalty - from where i sat thought it was a pen however everyone who had a better view said he dived.
Disallowed Goal - Until i saw the flag i didnt know whether Arsenals header was a goal or not as i couldnt tell (further down the pitch).
Zigic v Wilshire - I thought Wilshire ran into Zig on accident and flopped onto the ground (right in front of me), the following tackle wasnt a leg breaker but could have been (opposite side of stadium).
Nasri v Ridgewell - Ridgewell bought a foul yes however Nasri kicked him deliberately and got a yellow (right infront of me).

I could care less how we got the three points. A win is a win in my book. Some times you need a little luck and today we got it.
For those bitching about a dive, its not like Arsenal haven't been the victim of a dive by opposition so you can get off your high horse regarding overreactions because ALL players do it.

We were at Villa park today, and six first teamers are injured for us. Pleb.

Drogba, Lampard and Alex I think were the only actual first team starters missing I think ?

I agree to be honest however it doesnt help the fact that we have had 3 penalties against us this season and only 1 was a penalty, all season decisions have gove against us. We could have played Blackpool today and i would have been the same. Our luck has totally gone.

Over reacting is one thing, sometimes you have to over-react if you know you were fouled because sometimes the ref wont give you the decision otherwise.
As far as im concerned Chamakh dived for that penalty, and thats cheating. There was hardly any contact, if ANY on him.
Just because alot of other players do it does not mean it is all of a sudden okay to do it.

Alex, Drogba and Lampard were missing. Bosingwa played. Name the other 3 "first teamers"?luke. wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Yes Arsenal nice 3 points at home with about 6 key players missing. Chelsea are struggling at the bridge and are just missing 2 players

I wouldn't even count Bosingwa at a first-teamer.. Ivanovic is so much better.19Jones19v wrote:Alex, Drogba and Lampard were missing. Bosingwa played. I can think of Kalou and Benayoun, although Benayoun's not a 'first teamer'.

Ok Bosingwa's lost his place to Ivanovic so let's see now.BenSmith wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Alex, Drogba and Lampard were missing. Bosingwa played. Alex, Drogba and Lampard=3
Kalou starts on the bench when every Chelsea player is fit and the team would look like this
Cech
Ivanovic
Alex
Terry
Cole
Mikel
Essien
Lampard
Malouda
Drogba
Anelka
Benayoun's not a first teamer

Well that sucks that its had to happen to your team, but Arsenal have been the victim of far too many blown calls over the years for me to feel sorry for anyone. I am sure at some point this season we will drop points because of a terrible call so until then I will just enjoy these three points and look forward to our next match now that its over.

Welcome to the world of professional sports. It's been happening in soccer since before you or I were born and it will happen long after we are gone. It's not cheating and if you consider that cheating then you have a way too strict opinion of what cheating is.
In the heat of the moment, players are not thinking about whether contact was made or not. Players are trying to gain the advantage and so that it can favor their team and that is exactly what Mar did to win the penalty. Hats of to him in my opinion.

Another Arise classic.
"Breaking the rules is not cheating"
Simulation is against the rules.

I have to disagree with you Arise. If you clearly wasn't touched and went down then you're blatently cheating, but if you was touched at the slightest and went down as if you were snippered then all you're doing is just over reacting and making sure the ref notices this.
Chamakh wasn't touched and went down, that's cheating. Chamakh got touched on the shoulder against Spurs, he went down over reacting which nearly every player would do.
Am I complaining about what he done yesterday?
Heck no.

First Teamer =/= First 11.
Alex, Lampard, Kalou, Benayoun, Drogba & Sturridge are all members of the first team, and are all injured.
Don't try and say Sturridge ain't first team, as Ancelotti has said it countless times that he is, along with the other youngsters.

As I said before when everyone is fit tell me your starting 11? I'm pretty sure it's this:luke. wrote:First Teamer =/= First 11.

Kalou, Benayoun and Sturridge will be warming up the bench, therefore from your match yesterday you only missed 3 players from the starting 11

I didn't say injured from the starting 11. I said from the first team. Can't you read?

I don't care what you said, I'm saying you missed 3 players from your starting 11 and it clearly showed yesterday you lot were let off the hook.

We were hardly let off the hook. The draw was clearly a fair result, as stated by both managers
