...and has probably already been answered, but can anyone tell me why lots of players seem to be wearing sports bras to training these days?

GPS Monitors that monitor how much ground players cover, how much their feet come off the ground, things like that etc. They use it to see the work load of the players and to use it as a precaution to injuries.
