Blackpool have lost alot of players during the summer and have unrest in the changing room with players not happy about their wages. A certain player has been deemed not fit to travel to East Yorkshire because of the problems. They have made 2 good signings though, Barry Ferguson and Kevin Phillips who should both do well at this level. Blackpool have also had a tricky pre season, only winning 1 of their 4 games.
Hull City have had a relatively good pre season even despite their highest paid player being given another chance, then going AWOL on a trip in Slovenia, given a 2 week suspension and finally seemingly welcomed back and given a squad number.
Apart from that, Hull City have had a perfect pre season... Signing loanee Evans on a permanent. As well as completing the signings of Dudgeon, Hobbs, Basso, Mckenna, Adebola on permanent deals and Brady and Gulcasi on loans.
Hull have also played 5 friendlys, winning all of them. Their biggest challenge came at home to Bradford City, a team who actually managed to break the Tigers defence although they still conceded 3 goals.
Tom Cairney v Barry Ferguson
Young v old. With Cairney having a pretty amazing pre season, coming back with a change in attitude and controlling every team (nailing Aquilani) he looks to be the key man in the Hull City team.
With Blackpool losing Charlie Adam, Phil Brown version 2. brought in Barry Ferguson to replace him, no doubt he is a better player than Adam but he is just as slow as him so I expect the youthful Tigers to run rings around him.
Hull City 1 - 0 Blackpool
PS: Tried not to be biased.
