As much as I agree with death for rape it wouldn't work because of all these stupid attention seeking slags who get drunk then shout rape the morning after

Re: Death Penalty in England?
No for a number of reasons.
First, I remember reading that it doesn't particularly work as a deterrent. People who are about to commit a crime which would be punished with the death penalty don't think of the consequences at all, so it makes no difference in terms of reducing these offenses.
Second, what if someone is later proven innocent?
Third, I don't think the right to decide over life and death should be given to anyone. If they sentence someone to death for murder then they are just as bad as the murderer. Two points in there really, but basically an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Re: Death Penalty in England?
I would only allow it for "special" cases like that guy who shot dead a school classroom full of kids what 10/15 years ago. Also it shames me to say this but our people would abuse the system to get people killed like the other guy said slags will convict everyone of rape.

We could do with a few more Stevie Wonders to replace the Tinchies and the Dappies and the Cher Lloyds.

Re: Death Penalty in England?
I think it should only be in place for severe crimes ie. Serial killers, serial child abusers etc

The prospect of the death penalty being legal is quite scary to be honest.

I think it could be quite useful as long as it is only used in cases in which the guilty verdict is proved beyond any doubt whatsoever.

Re: Death Penalty in England?
It all depends on what the English people feel about the matter. I support the right of capital punishment for anyone who commits murder. Give the family of the victim the option to either receive monetary replacement or allow capital punishment.

Because if a serial killer is dead, he can't kill more people. If you know for certain they did it, life in prison is a waste of money.ZlatanFabregas wrote:No.

It'll never get past the health & safety laws.

You can never justify killing surely, isnt it down to Allah who lives and dies?

Don't quote me on it, but I think the death penalty is permitted in Shariah Law.
Take the Norwegian killer. There's no way you can properly compensated for what he did.

I meant as a future reference. It's not a great example to set.
Is it really more expensive to keep some in prison though?
It costs millions to convict and then execute someone. It costs around £35,000 a year to keep someone in prison.

You absolutely cannot have the death penalty for rape, or any lesser crime than murder, that would be absolutely mental.
