They've bid £8m for Shane Long. Along with Allardyces big wages, Nolans fee + wages and the other players on pretty big wages for this league.


Are they risking the future of the club in hope they will bounce straight back up?

They're trying to spend their parachute money to go straight back up. Because of their debts, no promotion will see them 'do a Southampton' IMO.

Hasn't Shane Long had some Premier League interest? Probably why it's so high, any way yeah it's a massive risk, could be awful for them in the future.

I think a few clubs from the Premier League shown interest, so from that point on he would be expensive, I know what you mean, James.

They are going to destroy our league. The most annoying thing is that Gold & Sullivan spent nothing at Blues and now they are throwing money about like it's confetti

They have Big Sam, I don't think they need that many signings, a squad of theirs shouldn't of gone down last season, if they manage to keep on to a majority of the players and just make 1 or 2 signings, I reckon they can go straight back up.

Reading must be pissing themselves this summer. 2 usually decent to average Championship players had a 1 off good season and they could possibly make £13 Million off them.

@Ben, probably spending more due to the fact they support West Ham so it was more than just a business.

The owners put in £30m just to keep the club afloat

We can't spend any money or pay over £5k p/w wages because we have a debt of like £6m...

I'd love to see West Ham struggle this season as they've spent the last three or so years near the relegation zone in the PL and deserve to be a Championship side now. I have a feeling West Ham think they'll walk this league than they will get a shock to the system when the season kicks off and teams are alot more competitve and physical compared to the PL.

I can't believe they've kept Parker tbh. If they dont go up they are royally fucked
