The only album I've listened to from last year (I think anyway) is Feist - Metals. Great voice, and great songs too.

Unsure. I'm not really into your modern day music, give or take a few artists of course. I haven't cut myself completely off. But the best albums I purchased in '11 would of been-

Arctic Monkeys- Suck It And See
    Pink Floyd- The Wall(Remastered)
    The Beatles- White Album
Jimi Hendrix- Voodoo Child; The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Hip-Hop: Thug Motivation 103, R.E.D Album, Bad Meets Evil- Hell the Sequel, Self Made Vol. 1

Lasers wasn't that impressive. Like Dena said, it was his worst album.

It may be his worst work, but it's not bad. That just shows you how amazing his previous work was.

I didn't really understand the hype around Lasers. Sure, from a lyrical standpoint it's still a fairly strong album and Lupe does his 'conscious' thing as per usual. However, most of the powerful lyrics were almost drowned out to a point by awful/overbearing production. He was trying to experiment with too many different sounds.

What Lupe needs to do on his next album is go back to the old Lupe.

    Never Forget You
    I'm Beamin'
    Break the Chain
    Shining Down

There are some good songs on there.

There are a few tracks that I do like but overall thought it was just too radio friendly (beats and production), and not really cohesive.

I guess Lupe just put out an album the label wanted him to put out, which was a radio friendly one. "The Show goes on" was fairly successful in that regard.

They had a lot of say in the production of the album this time because they wanted to sell more records. Atlantic feared that the record lacked commercial singles, and presented Fiasco with songs the label wanted him to record.

    Interesting...think

I guess that could explain some of things I was referring to in my previous posts, and the fact that the production team on Lasers was almost completely different from his first two LPs.
