Ryan Dunn from Jackass has died

From Wikipedia: At the time of the accident, Dunn was believed to have been traveling over 110 mph (180 km/h). An unidentified passenger was also found dead at the scene. Both of the bodies were burned so severely that EMT's had problems identifying both people in the vehicle, but Dunn was identified by an EMT based on the tattoos on his chest.

Ryan Dunn, a star of the “Jackass” television show and movies, which feature perilous stunts and gags that often run afoul of good taste, died early Monday when his car went off a road and crashed in woods in West Goshen Township, Pa. He was 34.

A passenger, who has not been identified, also died in the crash, which occurred near Mr. Dunn’s home in West Chester, Pa., the West Goshen Township police said. The car, Mr. Dunn’s Porsche 911, burst into flames.

An original member of the “Jackass” franchise, Mr. Dunn also appeared in spinoffs like “Viva la Bam,” starring his friend and collaborator Bam Margera, and his own MTV show, “Homewrecker,” a malicious take on a home renovation show.

Mr. Dunn, whose scraggly beard and ursine build brought to mind a slimmer, tattooed Zach Galifianakis, performed innumerable painful and humiliating stunts on “Jackass.” In “Jackass 3D” he was pelted with paintballs while soaring through the air in a duck costume; in an early episode he jumped into raw sewage.

Perhaps his most notorious prank was the coda to “Jackass the Movie” (2002). Mr. Dunn inserted a toy car into his posterior, then hobbled to a doctor’s office for an X-ray. He convinced the doctor that the insertion had occurred after he had passed out at a fraternity party.

“Even though it hurt like hell, I said that if I committed myself to this insanity I may as well see it through,” Mr. Dunn wrote on his Web site. T-shirts were later sold bearing the X-ray image.

Ryan Matthew Dunn was born on June 11, 1977, in Medina, Ohio. He moved to Philadelphia when he was 15 and met Mr. Margera on his first day of high school there.

His career in reckless behavior started in the 1990s, when he and Mr. Margera started filming underground skateboard and stunt videos. The videos, titled “CKY” for “Camp Kill Yourself,” caught the eye of Johnny Knoxville, a like-minded prankster who became the “Jackass” frontman. Mr. Knoxville asked to include “CKY” clips and new footage featuring them on “Jackass,” which had its premiere on MTV in 2000.

Mr. Dunn also played more conventional roles, appearing in the romantic comedy “Blonde Ambition” (2007) and NBC’s “Law & Order: S.V.U.” Most recently he co-hosted the series “Proving Ground” on the G4 cable network.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his parents, Ronald Dunn and Linda Piscitello; a stepfather, Thomas Piscitello; a stepmother, Lynn Dunn; a fiancé, Angela Cuturic; a sister, Brandi Berman; a brother, Eric Dunn; two stepbrothers, Thomas and Joseph Piscitello; and a stepsister, Nicole Filippelli.
