No not really because he had the opportunity to take certain replacements like McEachran and Wickham of whom he boasted about before the tournament that would fit into the team, yet he didn't even take McEahran and left Wickham on the bench for the whole tournament when he could of been playing in U-19 qualifiers.
Put it this way, if England had of won all these games, Pearce would be praising himself and saying he didn't need certain players, and Brooking would be backing him up. But when they lose - like they did yet again, he will lay the blame on players not coming to the finals.
It's funny too because he constantly harps that he can't fault his players because they play with passion and endeavor so he never wants to berate them in the media, yet he constantly lambasts to the media every time they lose a game that the players aren't good enough or are too naive lmao. He also like to tell everyone that England is the number 1 ranked team in Europe, and also likes to tell everyone that his team was undefeated for so and so amount of time so that part-time followers of the U-21 side can be be tricked into thinking that he's doing a hell of a job.
And still, after the loss, he still said that even though they are out in the group stage, the fact that they were seeded as "number 1" pre-tournament, shows that the team did not fail, and has not been failing. Lol!
