How much does diet affect footballers?

I've heard it's

10% Luck
20% Skill
15% Concentrated power of will
5% Pleasure
50% pain

And 100% reason to remember the hame.

I am sure that their diet is a very important role on performance on the pitch. I am sure they stay away from sweets and greasy fast food junk. I imagine need the right amount of fruits veggies and lean meats. They need a lor of carbs and protein so fatty meats are probably a no go. They might take a vitamin pill but I do not know for sure. They are still human so I imagine they have sweets and such on an occasion or two.

I would imagine their diets to follow a certain plan, you know, the obvious stuff, pasta, chicken, vegetables, but I don't think they are as strict as some of you are making out. They're not body builders where they aim for the lowest amount of body fat possible, they have to sustain a certain level, so I would imagine that they eat some unhealthy/fatty foods several times a week, whether it be snacks or meals. Plus they eat chocolate before games for an energy boost.

I know that protein and carbs are a must but these guys should be allowed to have an item or two that is not healthy. However I am sure they do not eat a totally unhealthy meal like just fast food. They need a good balance here and I also think they probably normally drink only water and sports drinks like gatorade or powerade.

I'm not sure whether they will have fast food, but add something healthy, but they don't just drink water and sports drinks, I remember watching a few UK versions of MTV Cribs before, and on two episodes they went to two footballers houses (I can't remember who they were) and both of them had their fridges packed with cans of coke. Either they really like coke and it was a coincidence, or they are told to drink it by the club due to the high caffeine and sugar content.
