Also, I think I saw people arguing Inter had little technical skills? compared to Barca it's not that much between Inter and Barca. From Inter defense to strikers every player in that team is technically gifted.

I don't remember the last time a non-technically great team won a major tournament..(People say Greece '04....but they had some very good midfielders...like Karagounis, Basinas and Katsouranis...it's not like they lacked skill.)

    Nobody has said it's not important.. U21's Championships - Spain v England - Page 23 58503
Doesn't essential mean same thing as 'necessary'...etc?

But whatever, how can technique not be essential or of the most importance? Laughing

    No.

Because you can't just focus on one aspect when developing youngsters. It's a recipe for disaster.

please describe then what kind of syllabus shoudl be taught to young players and at what ages. i am very curious to know your perspective

No one focuses on 100% technique though, let's be real... people here are arguing on two extremes and it's making for backwards conversation.

There is no set syllabus for when to coach kids, you can't dictate how someone will learn. Technique will be focused on from a young age, however, once a player hits double figures/early teens, they have to learn to play tacically. You can't focus on technique throughout, otherwise you'll have a technically quality player that has no idea how to play.

That's just the most basic outline you can get, there's plenty of other factors that need to be channeled through training no matter what the age.

male cognitive foot skills do not fully develop till age 14 and 15

up until these ages football should only be about playing, for fun and for learning. this is number 1 rule for youth development coaching in some of the best institutions in the world - KNVB it is age 15, RSFF, FFF, GFA age 14 and FIGC starts second stage of learning at 13

up until those ages, kid should not be playing on full size pitch, should not be told to "keep team compact", should not be playing 1 touch football. it should not be doing any of those things. this is a proven FACT. if in england an 8 year old is told to make long diagonals on full size pitch to a striker that is just indicative of a coach who is probably unqualified and does not have his badges which is very common in england. only in england would someone in charge of any sort of institution would be able to do so without any uefa accredit qualifications. this coming to no surprise when all these people are focus on is winning and results, they do not understand the mechanics of football. a player only has 13-15 years of his early lifie to develop those foot skills and it has been proven again and again by KNVB and RSFF that "tactics" have no business in development of a child. only into those ages of 15, 16 and beyond should u even consider starting the second stage which is implementing player into a formation and into roles that suit them

by those ages and underage tournament such as this. those player technical skills should already been formed but it is tournament like this is supposed to be use to nurture those skills and keeping them up to date and to even improve them where possible. when you play positively, to feet, under pressure, it forces players to play. this style is seemingly-less instated in spanish system

and hey of course you dont just bring kids to training and tell them to practice left foot all night. they obviously require certain fitness requirement. but if your idea is to make kids do 100 laps every day, that is not training lol, infact knvb training method and their headquaters in association with ajax is easily the best method that exists for 7-13 year olds. skills acquisition training programs are the most important and most of daily session is comprised by dribbling, short passing, 3 touch interchangeable running and highball trapping with both feet. this is what kids should be doing every day. if some loser like nz gangster(wow) wants making excuse for himself for being to fat and unable to stop playing fifa and to practice these things, its his fault. or perhaps its not entirely his fault. he probably plays under yet another unqualified coach who tells him to "get it into the box" and "go for a run" every time they meet

most important thing in football = technique

most important thing for england = better coaches =who should be equipped with tools to teach better methods for technique

Why is the focus on England? half of what is spouted about coaching over here is bullshit.
