CAMERON DIAZ is a keen Brentford footie fan, Will Ferrell follows Chelsea and Tom Hanks says he's an Aston Villa supporter.
So just why would box office giant Tom pin his claret and sky blue colours to the mast?
Ashley Young's devastating attacking runs maybe - or that, until recently, they had a goalkeeper who came from America?
Not exactly. Mr Hanks thought Aston Villa sounded like a wonderful holiday destination.
The Sun spoke to Tom before the London premiere of his film Larry Crowne on Monday.
The megastar was in a buoyant, jokey mood and said about the Premier League side from Birmingham: "I fell in love with Aston Villa because I thought the name sounded like a lovely island off Sardinia.
"What a lovely place to go on vacation.
"'Where are you going to go on holiday?
"'I'm going to Aston Villa, it's a lovely place to take the kids, we are going to play on the beach and get a lovely apartment overlooking the football field'.
"I try to pay attention to how they do and gather they are just OK."
The club are looking for a new manager but Tom, yet to visit Villa Park, is a tad out of touch when it comes to who should replace Gerard Houllier, asking: "Is Brian Clough still around?"
When I pointed out the legendary Nottingham Forest manager is sadly no longer with us, Tom finally admitted: "Sorry, I don't know anything about football."
This was confirmed when he added: "Come on the scarlet and blues, come on boys!" That forced him to tweet later: "Oops! Aston Villa colors are claret and blue. I saw scarlet. My face is red. Go A. Villa! Hanx"
