I think Arsenal has about 30m + Bendtner and Denilson for trade.

How much does your club have to spend?

No set budget. It's a player by player policy.

Cause we don't pay transfer fees.
Why don't you just say you have no idea like everyone else.

Because maybe I do have an idea? Maybe that idea has come from interviews, reports, stuff I've been told, read etc... it's a pointless thread anyway as not one single person will know what their clubs got to spend, hell even if the club might not now exactly how much they're gunna' spend. Football's unpredictable and things always change.

Eventually, a few teams definitely have the cash to buy players, it's just not what we do.

Ehhh... I don't think you have an idea, 'player by player' policy is a very blanket term and is something I'd expect someone in the front office to say to give the illusion to fans that there is money to spend, and while I believe Liverpool do have money to spend, 'player by player' is very ambiguous.

We will have a set budget Dean
Henry said he will not deficit spend.
If we have a player budget, that means it's part of an overall budget.
Henry's not gonna spend so much that it's gonna put us at a loss for the next few seasons. There's going to be a limit where he says, "That's enough, if we spend any more, we have to sell players."

Who was the last player MLS bought? I always hear shifty terms and ish when regarding foreign acquisition.

We'll spend what needs to be spent. From the horses mouth that, Mr.Dalglish (That doesn't sound like a budget to me) End of story, can't be assed getting into a petty argument over it.

About £10,000. For the first time in about 5 years we have enough money to buy a player. We'd have to look for a non league gem as £10,000 wont buy you f'all in League two.

Saborio was purchased. That is what made him a DP last year and not this year.

It's nowhere near end of story.
Henry isn't going to break a habit of a lifetime and start flashing cash out of his own wallet. He also won't be putting the club in debt for the sake of a player.
Kenny is just trying to say we're in the market.
Just because we don't know what the budget is, doesn't mean it's non-existent.
Why would someone say "You have this much to spend on that player, but it doesn't matter what you spend overall because there's no budget lol".
Read about how Henry has run the Red Sox. There is a budget.

So do you think buying players will effect us buying other players? I personally don't, which is why I think we'll be operating on a player by player budget. Obviously we'll have budgets in place, I'm not saying anything different, I'm just under the impression it's not an overall budget but a player by player budget.

How does buying players NOT affect your ability to by other players? FSG don't have a (seemingly) unlimited amount of money to spend like Manchester City or someone like that. If you spend 15m on a player that's obviously 15m you can't recoup back to pay for another player, hence why some teams sell to buy.
Even if you have a player by player budget, there is still an overall budget to that.

I think we'll have priorities that will have been accounted for in an overall budget. That's the same for any club.
If you have a player budget than it's part of an overall budget.
To answer your question, I think if a player costs more than we expected than I think it will affect who we buy.
Like I said, if there's no overall budget, then why have a player budget Why not just say, "Fuck it, go buy him, it doesn't matter how much we spend this season."

I understand what you mean, now try to understand what I mean. I don't think FSG have literally said: "Right Kenny, Damien, here's £50m to spend, spend wisely" Meaning if we spend say £40m on Aguero, that means we've only got £10m left. Where as if we wanted to buy Jordan Henderson we wouldn't be able to as we'd only have £10m left. This isn't FIFA or Football Manager. Obviously John Henry and the team will have worked figures out and will have numbers in their head. But in football, transfers change all the time. And I think it'd be stupid for Liverpool to go in with a set budget in my opinion considering we couldn't possibly tell how much we're going to spend precisely. I believe Henry and the team will go with Kenny's wishes which will be go with the flow and take it 'deal by deal' and see what shape we end up in.
Sets budgets don't work with top clubs, smaller clubs yes, but top clubs rarely use it.

Dean they have to have a figure to go by though.. Kenny couldn't go "deal by deal" and end up spending £70m.
Unless you are Man City/Chelsea there will be a cut-off point.

That's why the majority of top clubs are hemorrhaging money.
Look at what John Henry has said and done. Listen to how he's questioning if other clubs will be following the Financial Fair Play rules (the main reason he became interested in Football).
He intends to spend what the club makes. He's not going to put us in a position where if the players don't work out, we're fucked because we overspent and he has to fix that out of his own pocket or through loans.

This doesn't sound like a man who is going into a transfer market not knowing how much he's going to spend.
