Liz doesn't have anything amazing going for her.
Sure she's been solid throughout, but Sir Alan doesn't want ordinary, he wants outstanding. Stella hasn't been great recently but she has a great track record and did well earlier in the show.
At this stage Sir Alan just wants to have the people who have potential to be great. If they flop then he can kick them out, if they don't then they win and he gets someone great. If he keeps someone who's good but has no potential for greatness then he's just delaying the inevitable by keeping them on the show.

It should have been the bloke who went though. They are meant to be based on the task they done that week, and Liz got over double of what the bloke got, and Liz went! Just because the bloke had revised a script and went in there and said it, shouldn't mean he should stay. Stella couldn't have gone, she was on the buses, she had nothing to do with all the money side of things this week. I agree completely, although I do think that they should also be judged on past performances. But seriously, Liz hasn't put a foot wrong all series and is better than Stella, and miles ahead of Stuart. Only reason he's still in it is because Sir Alan sees a little bit of himself in him.
