I've only got like 301 friends because I don't really give a shit. I only use it to talk to like my 5-6 best mates, everyone else is on appear offline to me.

Would take me ages

Deleted everybody except friends, a few friends of friends and school mates. Facebook is shit when it's full of people you don't give a fuck about.

I only have close friends now. I had 740 but now only 112.

Uni and/or College Mates: 0
Friends from School: 15 all qualify as close friends too.
Friends of friends and random acquaintances: 6
No idea who they are: 0
Not spoken to in years: 0

People i'd cross the road to avoid: 0
Those I wouldn't recognise in the street: 0
People blocked: 0

Rest are family.

This is what I don't get, why is Facebook about just having your 'proper' friends/mates? If I wanted to speak to my mates, I'd fucking phone them or go meet up with them. I actually like talking to people who I don't know very well (Girls basically). Funnily enough though, I don't add anyone any more, maybe add the odd girl or someone I know, but people who add me I accept.

What's the point in phoning them when you can do a free chat on facebook? Plus you can use group chat, really easy to organize to meet up that way.

I don't want to talk to people I don't know in real life. If I've not met them in real life I'm not gonna meet them on facebook, maybe I'm just an antisocial person like that.

I have 450 friends on facebook and can honestly say I've spoken to them all, even if it was just a Hello.

I don't block anyone on Facebook, just don't add them or just delete them.

Right now I have 84. I had like 700 but honestly I couldn't be bothered having randoms spamming up my home page when I don't care about their life, didn't even speak to them when I "knew" them yet alone now, or they're ugly. Let's be honest, no one is going to delete hot girls and I kept good friends I'd known for a long time even if I'd lost contact. You could say that being on Facebook is keeping contact.....but I'm not really that upfront and sociable.

I use Facebook to socialise. I probably should just use a phone or actually meet up but......that's effort, I don't have a good phone/phone plan........and people are busy most of the time

I have 284 Facebook friends. I have met face to face with most of them. The only exceptions are people from this forum and some random people from college or high school. If they are in the same network, I go ahead and add them even if they aren't familiar (especially if they have mutual friends). So I would say a good 95%+ of my FB friends are people I actually know.

I only talk to 10-20 of those friends on a regular basis (through Facebook that is).

LMAO funnily enough, the first guy in that article - his face is rather familiar except I can actually place him - he was on my course at Uni.

Deleted him from Facebook 2 or 3 years ago. Good to know I'm not one of those statistics.

You also have the option for them to post weekly comments on your wall like "hey whats up dude how was your day" for extra charge

I currently have some 800 friends. I did a mass exodus when I came to Venezuela (I had about 1600 friends which makes sense considering I went to high school in two countries...).

I will consider doing to OP and reducing my friends list to around a stable 3-400.
