6.30 on a sunday, what a stupid time.
I wish BBC had the playoffs, they would probably have a 12pm kick off, then a 3pm kick off on both the saturday and sundays for leagues 1 and 2. They don't have many fans as it is but even more will be put off by the stupid 6:30 times they use.

Just another example of Sky dominating fixtures times, not taking into account the travelling supporters.

I don't mind Championship games being the night games because away attendances will still be pretty good.
Basically they should play
Saturday - League 1(12pm) League 2 3pm
Sunday - League 2 12pm League 1 3pm
Then have League 1 2nd legs friday night 8pm (both games) And the League 2 on the Saturday.
It doesn't matter that League 1 is on Friday night because most people can get Friday afternoons off fairly easy and SKY could just stick one on the red button.
Easy.

I make too much sense to be a football league chairman.
If I was though i'd make sure
1) BBC got football league rights, not SKY
2) 36 games can be shown. EVERY team must be on (yes that means each team will have 1 match on tv) TV money shared equally
3) Allow clubs to have 20% standing areas if they want
4) Ban alcohol from inside the ground and all pubs around the stadium on matchdays must be closed till kickoff
5) Remove points deductions for administration and punish the owners instead (lock em up basically)
6) Trial goal line technology
7) Send 3 teams down from League 2
That is all I can think of right now, i'm sure there is more. I'm not sure if i'd be able to half of them either.

I agree with all of that apart from the closing of pubs before kick off. It will just mean that people would go to the local corner shop and get pissed in the street. And that it would ruin it for the genuine fans who can control their drink, and the pub owners as they would lose thousands of pounds per year.
I do think that 3 teams should now go down from League 2 as L2 is now even more tinpot then the conference with clubs like Cambridge, Stockport, Grimsby, Lincoln, York, Luton and Wrexham stuck in the BSP. Also the quality of the 2 divisions is minimal with relegated League 2 teams finishing mid table in the BSP and promoted BSP teams usually fighting for promotion in League 2.

Hope Accrington win tonight. It would be a victory for football as Stevenage are the most horrible side I have seen this season. Just boring (but succesful) hoof ball football and they break up the play at any opportunity they can. It was like watching a game of American football against them. So many stoppages in play.

The thing is, it is alcohol that causes these incidents at football that don't allow the real fans to enjoy it as much as they should be allowed.
There is a reason why police move games to midday...

You know people are still agressive when sober? There will always be trouble around football matches whethere there is alcohol or not, no point denying everyone the chance of having a pint before the footy imo.

People may be aggressive, but its the alcohol that actually gives people the bottle to fight other fans.

Gooal for Stevenage, harsh deflection though.

Starting to realise how weak League 2 was this year. You got out at the right time Bury, next year looks alot harder.
