He'd recovered from his mistake by the time the goal went in, it was a couple of well worked passes followed by a good finish.

Well he made an error before and Jason Roberts could have scored and there was a chance for Samba too. I just got the feeling they were going to score in the next couple of minutes.

You can't really blame his error for the goal, because all he did is run out and the run back. Admittedly he could have been exposed from that mistake, but he wasn't, he had time to stand in the goal for a few seconds before the ball went in for the goal.
