They get paid ridiculous amounts of money for no skill imo. Like the Simpsons ones get paid millions. They invent the voice they're doing so how is that hard?
They go to the creator. They do this voice, and the creator picks the one he wants his character to sound like and that's their job. Purely out of luck that they sound how the creator wanted. They get paid so much just for continuity in the program.
Meanwhile there are people who don't make up the voice, but actually sound just like the actors. It requires so much more skill, but they don't get noticed and have to resort to posting videos on youtube. Or hope their skill transfers over to an act.
It's all backwards and it's fucking stupid.
It's not the point that it's not their real voices, or even if they do the voices for more than one character. It's the fact that they got the job because that's how the creator wanted his character to sound.
Everyone can put on a different voice. Now imagine going to an audition, you're a terrible voice actor, you put any old voice and by luck the creator loves it. That's it, the voice that no one cared about before is now famous. The longer the show goes on, the more you get paid because that's the voice all the viewers are used to so you're payed to stay.
Now imagine someone being able to perfectly impersonate your voice. This is just a voice that your vocal chords allows you to make. But someone can adjust theirs to perfectly mimic yours. Don't you think that takes more skill?
