^ arguably the best functional XI under your criteria. weakpoints in the team are obviously taiwo and schwarzer. but park helps defensively on taiwo, and who needs a world class keeper when you have lucio, vidic, and essien in front of him

oh and giuseppe rossi IS american

Essien has been poor recently, don't see much to warrant his selection in these sides
