Even if people were getting on and off it wouldn't take 7 minutes...no way. It would be a fast elevator in a building like that. I'd assume there would be more than 1 elevator too...so wouldn't have to worry about going up and down etc.

It would take more than 7 minutes for the elevator to get to the bottom if you consider the size of the tower and the amount of people using them.

I'd just run down the stairs while ringing the authorites and telling them to shoot the plane down.

I know some guys who worked in the World Trade Center, something like the 85th floor. They said that in the mornings when elevator traffic was at its peak, their elevator journey could take as long as a half an hour. They lived in midtown. It takes about 20 minutes on the subway to get to Wall Street from midtown. So they had to leave for work in the morning about an hour before their scheduled start time.

In that case, leg it down the stairs.

95 floors....7 minutes....would be a big struggle to manage 13.5 floors a minute....but you're going down the stairs, you're fighting for your life and you don't need to get right to the bottom...the plane hits high up ish....and the tower takes a fair amount of time to collapse.

Accounting for a bit of traffic on the stairs (ie you can't bolt down them) I'd guess it'd take 5 seconds to get down a floor. That'd mean you'd reach the bottom just under 8 minutes after you'd started. And that's without telling anyone about it / causing a panic. Although, the panic would have started when you get to about the 10th floor.
But considering the South Tower collapsed at 9:59am and the North Tower collapsed at 10:28am (source wikipedia), you have a fair bit of time really once you're further down.

Would it not be suspicious if you told people what was going to happen though? What would sound more plausible: "I'm with Al-Qaeda" or "I'm from the future"?

It was my 11th birthday so i would eat some cake and play Pokemon, because i was a cool kid

I would probably run down the stairs as fast as I can although I would probably tell everyone in my office to get out, and probably hit the fire alarm when I was like nearly down so I'm near enough to the bottom without getting caught in loads of traffic, while i was running I would call the police and tell them theres a bomb in the trade towers

I would get in the elevator, and wait for the plane to go through, cutting the wires, and then i would jump just before it hit the ground and it would be ok.

So, I get down to the bus stop, where I see my friends. They're kickin' in the front seat and sittin' in the back seat. Here, I'll have to make my mind up, which seat should I take?*

I would die, its all well saying what I could do and how I get away and stuff, but I would realistically panic, cry and die.

You would have to ride two elevators in the WTC towers to get to the bottom. Instead of having elevators stop at every floor, they had them that stopped at every ten floors. From there, you have to take another elevator that would take you to your specific floor.

Still possible to have made it down in that amount of time of course, the ones that stopped at every ten floors were high speed elevators.
