How come?
Before I thought about it I was thinking no, but the more I thought about it the more yes made sense. Plus if you vote no then that's pretty much all electoral reform dead in the water.

I only catch it on the news, it sounds good. Sounds like some of the lesser able parties that make it in will be able to do it more frequent.
It's not like how others go: "BNP will become in charge "

I voted yes to AV and for the SNP up here in Scotland. I don't want independence but they've got the best student policies. I don't think AV is perfect, but it's a step forward.

Re: Anyone vote today?
Don't know too much about it.
Apparently Clegg thinks any who oppose it are right wing.
Hence why I'm against this Anyone deemed right wing except moronic unprofessional groups like BNP aren't right wing, just less left than the left wing.

Just because I would never vote conservative and lib dems are filthy liars. Labour haven't exactly wowed me with any of their policies, but they're always going to be better than conservatives (i.e. I don't want a ton of tuition fees).

Re: Anyone vote today?
I drive past these billboards on the way back home from work every day though, and they convince me AV is bad!
They have like a photo of a soldier and say 'he needs bulletproof vests, not a new voting system' and stuff like that.
But I'll watch the video, open my mind. I hate politics so I don't pay that much attention.

Yeah I've seen them ads, thought they were a bit cheesy. I like the one that basically implies you're killing babies if you don't vote no.

I see the logic behind it.....but I can see why the Lib Dems would want it.
Most are either Labour or Conservative...and don't want the other at all......so they'll vote Lib Dems 2nd as all the other parties are even shitter than the main three...meaning that they'll get all the 2nd votes and elevate them greatly in the polls.
Simply put though.....I'd rather just not vote, as they're all shit. Who do I want in power? None of them ideally, Conservatives are probably the best though....I'd probably 2nd place UKIP/BNP just because I think if they got high popularity it'd make the big parties wake up and listen to what people actually want.

All things aside, I just generally think it's a better voting system, regardless of loyalty to parties etc.. I think the only reason David Cameron is opposing it is because it favors his party, which winds me up. He should do what he thinks is best for the country, not what's best for the tories.

True, but you're asking for something almost no party would do.
90% of politicians put themselves and their party before the public.

Re: Anyone vote today?
Wrong. The 2nd votes are only counted if your 1st vote is eliminated. This is why the dog voters didn't have their 2nd vote counted.Lux wrote:Zzonked wrote:Uncle John from Jamaica wrote:I haven't been yet, might go down in a bit and see if there's no queue. Will be voting no to AV I reckon.

Re: Anyone vote today?
Got loads of 'No to AV' letters, so I voted yes.
Doesn't matter anyway, we'll still be voting people in that care more about themselves than the people that actually vote for them, regardless of the voting system.
