This may look like a standard result not worthy of a thread until you consider the first time these teams played this season. That game ended PSV 10-0 Feyenoord. Quite an amazing result after the first game for Feyenoord. This victory also is extra sweet since it pretty much killed off PSV's title dreams for this season.

Was there any reason Feyenoord did so badly in the first match?

You'd expect PSV to win it after that result

That 10-0 reminds me of FM, me being in charge of Feyernoord of course.
I want Ajax to win.

Re: Feyenoord 3-1 PSV
Well I can not find a completely obvious reason they did so bad but some ideas from reading a match report. First they had a very poor start to the season and was in the relegation zone at the time. They also had to use two substitutes by the 35th minute due to injuries. Also at 34th minute they went down to 10 men as they had a fullback red carded. At that point they were down only 1-0. Granted none of these quite make sense for letting in 10 goals but those were some factors to what was going on.Jay.Davies11 wrote:Was there any reason Feyenoord did so badly in the first match?
