Nope. I think he'd make a decent LB, tbh, but he isn't. Besides that, Barca's number 3 is playing in this tournament: Jesper Nøddesbo.
Denmark 34-29 Croatia
We've advanced from the group with the maximum about of points (4), as the only team in our group in the main round (Sweden beat Poland ). Kasper Søndergaard scored 9 on 10 shots for us.
Again, I had a long day at uni, so I didn't watch most of the match.
Everything is perfectly lined up for Denmark now, with the group in the main round looking like.
Denmark 4 pts
Sweden 2 pts
Argentina 2 pts (best placed latin american team ever?)
Poland 2 pts
Croatia 1 pt
Serbia 1 pt
Now, both Croatia and Serbia will need Denmark to win everything, and win everything themselves too. Possible for Croatia, where I think Serbia will finish last.
Argentina, Sweden and Poland can handle a defeat (against Denmark), but will still need to win the most matches to advance.
Denmark is in a great position and are through with 2 victories.
The other group in the main round is:
Iceland 4 pts
France 3 pts
Spain 3 pts
Hungary 2 pts
Germany 0 pts
Norway 0 pts
How on the earth could Egypt lose against Bahrain?

Denmark 28-27 Poland
We won that match in the first half (15-9) and on Niklas Landin having a save percentage of an impressive 40+.
The defense was gobshite in the second half, looks rather worrying.
Some placement matches tomorrow, as well as some main round matches.
Bahrain vs Australia in the match to avoid last place. Go Australia.

Re: Handball
This planning is a fucking disgrace!
France can actually decide who they'll play against in the semi-final. They have a +10 goal difference compared to Spain in main round group 1, so they're pretty much sure to win the group if they beat Iceland.
Denmark and Sweden are playing for first place in main round group 2.
The problem is just that that France-Iceland is played 30 minutes later than Sweden-Denmark. In other words, in second half of France-Iceland, they know the result of Sweden-Denmark and can go out to second half against Iceland and theoretically lose on purpose, if they prefer playing against the winner, rather than the loser of the match between the scandinavian neighbours.
This is a fucking disgrace, and shouldn't be. The matches should be played at the same time.
There are several transfer rumors regarding the Danish keeper, Niklas Landin. Following clubs are said to be after him:
Rhein-Neckar Löwen
HSV Hamburg
Flensburg/Handewitt
Croatia Zagreb
3 of the big 4 in Germany and one of the big clubs in Croatia (as far as I know). I find it most likely that he'll go to a German club.

Looks like the semis will be
Denmark-Spain
Sweden-France
I'd like a Denmark-Sweden final.

Re: Handball
Norwegean pivot Frank Løke has been thrown out of the Norwegean squad, after saying on Norwegean TV that he hates Danes.
Løke has previously signed two contracts. One with Skjern (Danish club) and one with RK Zagreb. He preferred playing for Zagreb, but he had 2 contracts and tried to get away from the one with Skjern, but he ended up being banned from handball for some months for signing for two clubs at the same time.
Nice job by the Norwegean team, sending that cunt home.

Re: Handball
Denmark - Spain
and
Sweden - France
tonight.
Spain has two exceptionally good keepers, the Serbian Arpad Sterbik (who, IMO, shouldn't even be allowed to play for Spain) and J.J Hombrados. Both keepers will have to deal with world class wingers, shooters like Hansen and Søndergaard and goalscoring pivots like Nøddesbo, Toft and Knudsen, and an all round good attack. I haven't watched Spain play a lot, but if it's the usual individual performance based Spanish team, Denmark will win tonight by 3-5 goals. If not, we'll have one hell of an even match, where goalkeeping performances will be key. The goalkeeping tonight is talent (Landin) versus experience (Sterbik and Hombrados). I'm hoping for talent to win. The Danish team can tear any defense in the world apart from their quick passing, so the Spanish team is in for a hard match tonight. Depending on their attacking abilities and their width, as well as the keepers in both goals, we'll have know how the match end.
I predict a two-goal victory for Denmark.

Re: Handball
First semi-final over
Sweden 26-29 France
*Opens Mathcad and Maple* What can be derived from this match?
*both programs agree* - A rat's ass.
No seriously, Sweden played way under their own level. Their defense was panicky, and their attacking players were too afraid of the big bad Omeyer in the French goal. In the last 10 minutes, Sweden showed some class, but the truth is that Sweden would have been ass-fucked, if they had played that badly against Denmark. The Swedish keepers sucked too.
And about France. Their attacking play sucked. It was slow, uninspired and generally not good, and the fact that they only scored 29 against a Swedish team with an unusually bad defense kinda says it all. Omeyer did, when the shooters didn't act all afraid of him.. not that well. If France plays like that against Denmark, they'll lose. Omeyer's big weakness is that he isn't that good when he can't see the ball leave the shooter's hand. Denmark has one of the three best shooters in the world (Mikkel Hansen) and a world class trick shooter (Bo Spellerberg). I'm optimistic about our chances against France, should we go to the final.
No, I'm not saying that Omeyer is bad, he's probably the best keeper in the world, but the opposing teams have a nasty habit of making him look much better than he really is. Omeyer is only human, and the opposing players have to remember that.

Second semi-final over.
Denmark 28-24 Spain
The SERBIAN keeper Sterbik, who everyone was afraid of today left the field with a save percentage of 24, after Mikkel Hansen (9 goals) and Hans Lindberg (6 goals) shot him to pieces. In the other goal, Niklas Landin probably played the best match of his career, with a save percentage of 45, including 3 penalties.
I can't wait for the final, as we can play even better than we did against Spain.
WE'RE IN THE FUCKING FINAL

Re: Handball
The Russian authorities are a fucking disgrace.
Around the time of the World Cup final, a lot of Danish players applied for visas to Russia, to play an EC qualification match against Russia today. The Danes playing for Flensburg-Handewitt had a CHL match against a Russian team, so they had to apply for visas for that match too, so the Russians fucking deleted the visas for the Danes for the match today, without contacting the players, the handball association or anyone, as well as refusing to give the Danes visas at this point, because the two days before were national holidays.
EHF (European Handball Federation) should punish the Russians for that shit, it's a disgrace.

Re: Handball
Pivot? You're standing almost on the 6 metre line, making it easier for the backs to shoot?
Also, AG København are now Danish champs, being Bjerringbro/Silkeborg in the final 30-21, in front of a world record attendance of 36651.

Re: Handball
Was an odd match, had a fairly good seat but no idea what Kasper Hvidt did in the beginning to get red carded, it looked really stupid. But it worked alright as Steiner Ege had a good match, not a fan of either team but was an experience with that big a crowd for a handball match. Although i wouldn't go for it again in Parken and doubtful i will go for another AGK match at all, so much other stuff had to happen besides the game it was just annoying, constantly playing music during the game and making the break last longer for a performance that not only sounded shitty but was from awful "artists" worst part, national song by a massive douchebag.
I hope that if they want a bigger venue for their Champions League matches next year, that they will take em to Malmø, where Denmark played most their matches during world cup, fantastic venue for handball and the noise and such is much better than in a Stadium like Parken.

Muhkoo - I guess you're pretty pleased with FCM winning the women's championship then. And yea, those two are hot.
My favorite is Viborg.
FC Barcelona won the mens champions league, beating Ciudad Real 27-24 in the final, with Nøddesbo as the top scorer for that match (8 goals).

Re: Handball
Top 3 from the world championship might actually end up in the same group in the euro championships next year.
For some strange reason, the first seeded teams are France, Croatia, Poland and Germany. Second seeded teams are Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Hungary. 3rd seeded teams are Spain, Serbia, Iceland and Czech Republic. 4th seeded are Slovenia, Russia, Macedonia and Slovakia.
What the fuck has Germany done to deserve being seeded like that? They might have the best league in the world, but that doesn't change that the NT haven't had ANY half-decent result since the EC in 08 (4th place). Denmark won in 08, didn't do well in '10 (5th), but still better than Germany and got a silver medal this year, while Germany finished 11th. Germany do not deserve to be seeded like they are, Denmark should have that spot. France, Poland and Croatia do deserve the other 3 spots for consistent good results.
I'll go as far as to say, that the ultimate group of death would be France, Denmark, Spain and Russia.
