Don't start the 'I'm a better football fan than you because I watch the Messina v Empoli match and nobody else does' argument.Kuled wrote:You probably don't know who Cavani is Also I've never seen you in the Serie A thread. Oh great this again. You can be a great player even if you don't play in the EPL. Is Messi not good because he hasn't played in England? No.
Anyways, Ibra would just show how beast he is, holding off defenders and such.
I just said it would be interesting, not saying unless he plays in England he's shit.
He failed at spain, with the best midfield supplying him. So doesn't that suggest he might not be as good in a different enviroment?
Didn't fail in Spain either. He wasn't used properly.

One of the most stupid things Ive seen you post TBH. Apparently you must not know anything about Serie A because you have not posted in the Serie A thread . That shouldn't have mattered if he was such a great player. It's call adapting, Ronaldo did that well enough.

Here's a good article I found concerning Ibra's time at Barcelona.

no no no no. What I meant to say is that he's probably lying when he said that he watches the games. If I just watched a game i'd want to discuss it (which he always does on matchdays including liverpool etc.) but you never see him mentioning or discussing the serie A league eveNorth_Sea_Tiger wrote:One of the most stupid things Ive seen you post TBH. Overrated imo. Hasn't cut it anywhere else but Serie A. Didn't quite fit in at Barcelona, he's never really performed in the Champions League for me, record against English teams is piss poor...

Re: In Ibra's own words. He is the best.
Dont think Ibra was a failure at Barca. He scored goals but he just didnt fit into their style ot because he cant play in that league but because of the way Barca play. Ibra obviously isnt going to run around harassing defenders for 90 mins like Messi & Pedro so he just looked out of place. He would be a success in Spain no doubt. I actually think he would be immense at Madrid and wouldnt be surprised to see him there in the summer if they decide that Benzema isnt a good enough starter to interchange with Higuain

Apart from 'that match' against Arsenal, Messi's record against English teams is also rather underwhelming.Danny wrote:Overrated imo. Hasn't cut it anywhere else but Serie A. Not really because Benzema is so wasteful. The amount of chances that Madrid make in a game Benzema should be scoring a lot more but he is too wastefulDanny wrote:If someone at Madrid doesn't think Benzema is a good enough striker to interchange with Higuain they've got problems.North_Sea_Tiger wrote:Dont think Ibra was a failure at Barca. 42 games, 22 goals, 9 assists.
And that's a failure?.

compared to Messi anyone's a failure.
Also there was his price-tag, and predecessor.

Re: In Ibra's own words. He is the best.
More than 0.5 goals per game is the benchmark for a good striker IMO, and Ibra hit that at Barca. Barca just needed someone to blame for their defeat to Inter, and the new boy was the scapegoat.

Ibra was talking about being the best in general, so I assumed that way.
But, Ronaldo, Messi, Drogba, Eto'o, Cavani, Villa, Fabiano, Higuain, Rooney, Heskey.
