TBF every champion from 2002/2003 to 2008/2009 would walk this season.

You think so?
I think from Spurs down the teams are still pretty average, apart from Liverpool maybe.

Yeah. Still remember Nakamura's free kick against Kilmarnock in injury time that won us the title.kyro7 wrote:You pissed that season by about 12 points didn't you?SBSP_FIFA wrote:Maybe the Celtic from 2006/2007.kyro7 wrote:Celtic would be in the title race.SBSP_FIFA wrote:TBF every champion from 2002/2003 to 2008/2009 would walk this season.
Even better was the season before - we won by 17 points, won it with six games left, and Hearts came second that year.

Carragher not a dirty player? Fucking hellPlan D wrote:Scott wrote:I think it was a red, but I don't think it was intentional.
Have to say though, the Ref was brilliant. Really consistent. He could easily have sent Rafael off for his two footed challenge on Lucas, but no. He only booked him, I like to think he did that on hindsight of the Carragher foul.
Great refereeing today, and of course, he looked so cool just standing there whilst shit hit the fan with Rafael and Skrtel etc.
Do agree with this. Having seen it again, there is no way Carra meant that, he's not in a million years a dirty player. Never has been. You can tell looking at it, he just genuinley mis times it. Nani is too' quick to the ball.
Can we say the same about Rafael? I'm not so sure, that's a dirty player. Done it to Meireles in the FA Cup and done it to Lucas in the game today, dirty bastard. He's like that, because he can't tackle and he's weak. Dirty players are people who are shithouses and can't tackle so they have to go in erractic. Pure and simple.

- Liverpool have taken 10 points in matches v traditional Big 4 rivals -
more than Man Utd 6, Chelsea 6 & Arsenal 4. Renaissance.

I think the lower teams getting better has made this season alot harder, Chelsea and United in particular dropping far more points to those teams then they are used too.kyro7 wrote:The worse thing is (for top four fans) not only have the better teams gone down, the lower table teams have gotten better.Sean wrote:Completely, Ronaldo alone would destroy every thing around him
Arsenal are no different then they have been any other season and will finish between 75-85 points, no better no worse.

What so laughable? He's not.
He's old skool, and doesn't take any shit. But Carragher has never been a dirty player and is not known for his malicious tackling and dangerous play. Occasionally he does get a few challenges wrong or occasionally does rough up the opposition, but I stand by what I said. Having watched him play with my own eyes for 8 years, I'd say am a pretty good judge.
If he was a dirty player, I'd say he was.

To be honest, I wouldn't say there is many dirty players out there anymore, and no I wouldn't of classed Masch as a dirty player. Some I can think of... Essien, Adebayor, Pieenar, Rafael, Cattermole, Huth. Thats some off the top of my head.

Just because you put in big tackles doesn't make you dirty.

Masch is a very clean tackler on the whole, definitely not a dirty player.

Mascherano has the worst disciplinary record of the 2009–10 Premier League season with seven yellow cards and two red.

Does that mean he is dirty? How've you come up with that?
Do you just get yellow cards for being dirty now?

A player in his position will always pick up cards.

Koscielny has a record just as bad as that and could end up with more at
the end of the season. He is by no means a dirty player just got alot of cards to his name.

Mascherano got called up for oustanding tackles all the time, he got a bad rep and it stuck in referees minds even though he was possibly the best tackler in the premiership while he was here.

I always thought he was a dirty player, that is just a statistic.Plan D wrote:The-Reporter wrote:Mascherano has the worst disciplinary record of the 2009–10 Premier League season with seven yellow cards and two red.

Ye' but just because he picked up the most yellow cards, that doesn't automatically mean he's a dirty player like you were implying. You get booked for shirt pulls, trips, descent, booting the ball away. Not just dirty malicious tackles.

He wasn't a twat dirty player. He got his hands dirty, and saved us so many times protecting our backfour.

Can't think of any player I'd rather have slide tackling an opponent who is running at full speed tbh. Even though we lost against Milan the job he did on Kaka was amazing, Kaka was his bitch.
