Tunisian newspaper Al-Sabah panned the Esperance fans who wracked havoc and assaulted security personnel in the stands during Ahli's 2-1 Champions League win at Cairo Stadium.

TV cameras caught a dozen of the away supporters beating up two stewards. Some of them were also seen holding lit flares although fireworks are not allowed inside Egyptian stadiums.

After the situation was contained, the damages at the match's venue were estimated at EGP 150,000.

"It's a disgrace to Tunisia," a brief news story on the well-known paper reads. "The live coverage showed that few Esperance fans had violently assaulted Egyptians.

"One of them (the hooligans) appears in pictures wearing the Tunisian flag and throwing a seat after ripping it up. This bizarre behavior blemishes Tunisia's reputation.

"The culprits must be apprehended and punished pursuant to the law in order to make an example out of them and show our Egyptian brothers how strict our country is."

I hate playing against North African opposition. There is always violence involved.

    JS Kabylie 0-0 TP Mazembe
    Espérance ST v Al-Ahly

Defending champions, TP Mazembe, reach the final once again. Ahly will play their second leg away to Espérance ST on Sunday after holding on to a 2-1 victory in Egypt. If Ahly reach the final, that would be the 5th final in the last 6 years.

TP Mazembe are on the verge of winning the African Champions League for the second consecutive season after thumping 10-man Esperance 5-0 in the first leg of the final on Sunday.

A highly controversial first half saw Mazembe of DR Congo secure a 2-0 lead via goals from Kasongo Ngandu and Dioko Kaluyituka.

The hosts went ahead after 17 minutes when the ball appeared to have crossed the line after Esperance keeper Wassim Naouara gathered a close-range header from Ngandu.

Togolese referee Kokou Djaoupe allowed the goal to stand to spark furious protests from Esperance players.

More controversy was to follow as Djaoupe sent off Mohamed Ben Mansour seven minutes later for no apparent reason. Television replays were inconclusive as to why the referee handed a straight red card for the defender.

Mazembe doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime when Kaluyituka converted a highly debatable penalty.

The misery of Tunisia's Esperance was compounded in the second half after Mazembe opened the floodgates.

Zambian striker Given Singuluma exploited the gaps in Esperance defense early in the second half to score two goals in quick succession and deal a serious blow to the visitors' hopes of claiming their second African Cup title.

Ngandu notched his second of the night with a fine header in the 75th minute to complete the rout as Mazembe enjoyed a remarkable night.

Mazembe equaled their own record of securing a 5-0 first-leg advantage in the final, having beaten Burkina Faso's Etoile Filante by the same scoreline in 1968.

The match is likely to land the Confederation of African Football (CAF) into more troubles as a result of more refereeing blunders.

Ahli defeated Esperance 2-1 in the first leg of the semi final after a clear handball by Mohamed Fadl gave the Egyptian champions the edge.

Esperance managed to reach the final after a blatant handball by Nigerian striker Michael Eneramo, who was a peripheral figure against Mazembe, gave them a 1-0 home victory in the second leg to go through on the away-goal rule.

Those bastards deserve everything they got for cheating in the previous round against Ahly. Go Mazembe!!!

Tunisia manager Bertrand Marchand said that referee Kokou Djaoupe was the main reason behind Esperance's humiliating defeat against Mazembe in the first-leg of the Champions League final.

The Togolese official harshly sent off Esperance defender Mohamed Ben Mansour, before awarding a shocking penalty as well as allowing a much-disputed goal to the home side in a 5-0 drubbing Sunday.

"This game seemed to be run by a local referee not a foreign one," the Frenchman told Tunisian paper Assabah.

"He looked to me as a Congolese referee rather than a Togolese one."

Though, Marchand admitted the Tunisian champions were outplayed by the African title holders.

"Mazembe were much better throughout the game. Esperance players and manager couldn't react at any time of the game," he said.

"Three years ago, I said that Mazembe will dominate African football and I was correct."

    :affraid: Racist motherfucker!!!

TP Mazembe defend their Champions League title by winning the 2010 CAF Champions League final against Espérance ST, 6-1 on aggregate. Mazembe will take part in the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup for a second time in a row. Will they do better than 6th place this time?
