Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen on strengthening his defence during this month's transfer window and according to Caughtoffside.com, the Frenchman could be lining up a bid for Spain international Albiol.
The 25-year-old has failed to secure a regular first-team place at the Bernabeu this season under Jose Mourinho after being a major part of former coach Manuel Pellegrini's back four at the club last season.
Mourinho has instead opted to give more starts to Pepe, who himself this week has been linked with a move to the Premier League following reports that he is ready to quit the club unless he is handed an improved contract.
With Wenger making little progress in his attempts to sign Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker, Albiol could become the Arsenal boss' next target, and with the former Valencia defender currently warming the bench with the La Liga side, Real could decide to cash in
Thoughts on this? I think he's a solid CB and is better than the current crop, (except maybe Vermaelen)
