Dzeko deal all but done Empty Dzeko deal all but done

Post by Jordi Thu Jan 06, 2011 7:08 am

If this should be in the rumours part, feel free to move it:
Dzeko has completed his medical with Manchester City.

The Bosnia international striker is expected to complete his move to the Premier League big-spenders in the next few days.

City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed on Tuesday that a fee had been agreed with Wolfsburg, believed to be in the region of £27million, for Dzeko's services.

The 24-year-old travelled to England on Wednesday from Spain where he had been taking part in a winter training camp with Steve McClaren's side.

There had been some suggestions that Dzeko would be at Emirates Stadium to watch his prospective new club in action against Arsenal.
But the talented forward, who has been targeted by a host of Europe's leading sides, will not be in North London for the crucial Premier League clash.

City will hope to have secured their major January target ahead of Saturday's FA Cup third round clash with Leicester City.
Dzeko's expected arrival is sure to increase speculation over some of Mancini's fringe striking options, with both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz expected to be on the move this month.

Obviously it's the worst kept secret ever, but Man City have done well to pay £9m under what Wolfsburg wanted.

Adebayor's off. Santa Cruz is injury prone. Jo isn't good enough.

Balotelli and Tevez are the only class strikers they have really.

They should stop buying strikers and buy someone like Diego, Stoke City has more creativity in midfield than Man City. Neutral

Silva could bring that if he picked a proper team like:

    Balotelli-Tevez-Johnson-
    -Silva-
    -Toure-DeJong-

Why do people think we have too many strikers? We really don't.

If you ask city fans the majority would have said we need a striker this season. Last season our biggest need was a creative mid, which Silva has so far fulfilled. Adebayor is really out of favor so isn't going to play, Santa Cruz is too, neither have been playing well anyway. Other than that we only have Jo who bless him is pretty poor. Dzeko will get games, guarantee you.

    Which 7 strikers are these?

    Tevez
    Balotelli
    RSC
    Jo
    Adebayor
    Dzeko

    I count 6.
Adebayor and RSC should be leaving asap. Mario isn't the finished article yet so that leaves Tevez and Dzeko starting, Mario filling in (possibly on the wing when needed) and Jo as backup. Problem?

Alex Nimley is 19 and has only played once, Ibrahim is 19 and is a central midfielder, not sure where you got that list from.

Santa Cruz was just a bad buy, he's been injured more than fit. Right now he's fit but obviously Mancini doesn't rate him. I think you're right, given a run in the team he could be good, but he's never going to get that now.

Adebayor, well he started out like Drogba, but lately he's been rubbish. It's painful to watch him, when the ball goes long off a GK he never even makes the effort to jump for it and he's about 6'3, it gets the fans frustrated. I bet if he moves the exact same thing happens again, he works his arse off for the first little bit the gets lazy again.

As much as I hate him, Adebayor is a good striker. I find it hard to beleive Mancini does not think Man City have it in them to win the league. Not only that but he doesn't think he can beat some of the bigger teams sometimes.

EG away to Arsenal..... Where we lost to fucking West Brom !
They probably have the best over-all squad in the league tbh or soon they will anyway.
