    International Families. Empty International Families.

    Post by Guest Wed Jan 05, 2011 4:12 am

    does anyone know of any family's with divided loyalties in international football?

    the one's i can think of off the top of my head are;

    The Boateng's (Ghana & Germany)

    The Vieri's (Italy & Australia)

    are there any other brothers, cousins, uncles/nephews or even different generations of the same family to have represented different nations in football?

    Hussein Yasser was born in Qatar to Egyptian parents. His father was a former Egyptian footballer, but his son now plays for Qatar.

    he was born in Marseille. THE greatest player of a generation played for the nation of his birth! a simple google search would tell you this.

    my as yet to be conceived son may play for Malta. Zidane's son would qualify to play for Algeria too, how do you know he wont play for them?

    Yep. I think I read somewhere that his son has declared for Spain. Hope not, though. But regardless, I was just pointing out Algeria, Spain or France, there will be a lot of different supporting in that family.

    Good question. His father was a footballer, but I'm not really sure if he got a cap for the Egyptian National Team. I can't seem to find any information about his father either, other than he was a former Egyptian footballer and moved to Qatar to coach.
