Blackburn owner Anuradha Desai claims the club have tabled a £6.2m bid for AC Milan's Ronaldinho.

Reports of a sensational move for the former World Player of the Year emerged on Monday with Rovers' new owners Venky's keen to make a splash in the transfer window.

Venky's initially denied making any move for Ronaldinho, but now Sky Sports News claim Desai has confirmed the Ewood Park outfit has lodged an offer with Milan for the former Barcelona star.

Ronaldinho's future has been the subject of speculation for some time with the playmaker having just six months to run on his current contract.

It was thought he would return to his native Brazil this month with former club Gremio keen to sign the 30-year-old.

However, Rovers now appear to have thrown their hat into the ring as they look to lure the skilful attacker to the Premier League.

Gremio remain favourites to land Ronaldinho, but Blackburn are waiting in the wings to sign him if he fails to agree a return to his homeland.

He wouldn't. He's been terrible for AC Milan, there's a reason he's been left out by them.

He's pretty lazy too, just stands around and makes the odd flick, which loses possession. 6m for a player to bring in the money.

I know he's lazy, but even if he was just standing there it would still make a big difference to Blackburn's team.

Blackburn's defence is fairly solid on their day too, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem if he just goal hanged. Neutral

Waste of money though, they're just doing it for publicity.

That's all it will bring, he won't do anything for you on the pitch, he can only play 60 minutes per game too, he said so himself.

£6m is hardly a waste for Blackburn. They would probably recoup that amount in shirt sales alone.

And of course, same as Malaga. They have money so they want to attract these kind of players. Nothing wrong with that really.

So how would Ronaldinho play football with Blackburn?

would he even manage to touch the ball all game? I mean with it hoofing to the other side, I don't see Ronaldinho's use for the team really.

At least now they might have a target for their long balls.

Long Ball to Dinho, pass by Dinho to a striker = goal. Rinse and repeat. No need for any fancy foreign tactics.

Blackburn will suddenly be awesome to play as on Fifa 11.

Unless they massively downgrade his statistics in the update.

He's great when I play as AC Milan.
