Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
Ended up getting up to watch it as when we got back we slept downstairs and my dad kindly came down to watch it
Petrov and Perez had brilliant races, especially Perez managing to do such a long stint on the option tyres. Petrov's had experience of holding Alonso back before though
Pleased with Hamilton's result as we knew he was up against it with the Red Bull's. Button was daft though, when watching that thing with Martin Brundle after on the forum it looked like he could easily have stayed on the track and forced Massa to yield.

Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
I stayed awake all night, got through to about 5 laps after Button's penalty and fell asleep
Tbh, Vettel had already won it when Hamilton came out of his first stop in 2nd.

Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
Vettel deserved the win no doubt, fantastic qualification and pretty much easy race.
Hamilton done well after winter testing
Button was stupid overtaking Massa, pretty much cost him a podium.
Petrov seems a completely different racer, himself and Kubica might make a quality partnership when Kubica returns.
Great drive for Di Resta in his first race, delighted he got a point and finished the race nicely.
Michael Shumacher again gets hyped up in a race, fails again.
Barrichelos stupidity caused Rosberg to retire.
Perez drove a superb race after a 1 stop, it's a shambe Suaber got disqualified because they deserved points in this race.
Anyway, delighted with a second place finish for Lewis, got worried when the floor business come along but it all seems good.
Looking forward to Sepang.

Feel a bit let down by the new rear wing's doesn't seem that the gain from them was worth all the effort

Yeah the DRS was a bit of a letdown, I think it'd have been more productive if it was for the straight towards corners 2 and 3 though. I bet it works better in Malaysia.

Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
Im happy theres more pit stops, hopefully nobody finds out how Perez done his 1 stop though.
When I got back in the car the other day I accidentally left my radio on for
only the second time in my life.
And when I came down the straight I screamed, "This is wicked!"
When I came back in, everyone was laughing and saying, "We heard you" and it
was very embarrassing.

All I can say is just watch races. I used to hate it, then one day I watched a race and I enjoyed it and have loved it since.

Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
Shumacher, every race he talks about podiums and every race he fails. I actually thought he would do really well this weekend, and he didn't even get into the final qualifying session.
Sam, Lewis is putting his thumb upto me.

Theres 24 drivers, 12 teams. Top 18 I think go through to qualifying 2. Top 10 go through to qualifying 3.

24, but there were 22 today because Cosworth were so slow in qualifying.

Re: Formula 1/ Walcotts thread.
It just seperates all the drivers. 22 drivers on the same track during 1 qualifying session would gets all messed up cos theres faster cars than others.
and its more exciting. the bigger teams use the harder tyres because their cars are faster and they can use the faster tyres later on so they are more fresh.
faster tyres wear faster
slower tyres last longer
also, the tyres that the drivers in qualify 3 make their fastest time on, they have to start with the same tyres on.
