I mean it's new and everything but the iPhone 6 is basically just the Galaxy Nexus, it's fucking huge. You're probably better off just getting some Bose quiet comfort 6 if you're really that desperate for a tablet computer.

you should not be expecting too much from phones ATM....just the usual yearly updates. I recently lost my Nexus 4 (top!) so i'll be getting the 5 (looks so sexy). You can't really beat that value. Also i prefer stock android.

I'll probably wait for the 6 announcement and see how it compares.

If you want to see a huge change maybe wait for that project Ara thing.

edit: The Nexus 6 will probably come with the new OS if you're into that.

Its just not that much of an upgrade over the 4. Which is a problem with all other phone companies but its more visible with the nexus apparently.  Its not that the five is bad, its just not that better than a four. I also have a problem with google for not wanting to give their phones expandable memory. Its like they are trying to be the iphone of the android market which is ridiculous.

Yes but the Nexus line is supposed to be a value option...A line to show off the android software, a standard almost.

Sure if they priced their phones like HTC/Samsung/Apple do, they would pack better hardware into it.

I'm not a big phone camera guy, nor do i watch a lot of shit on there (regarding poor speakers), and anything above 1080p is useless and a battery drain. The Nexus does everything i need it to with top performance. It's a fantastic option.

Phones are lame anyway. I see the M8 is priced at close to $1000 NZD...Why would you pay that?

If you've been following the news, the Nexus 6 should be quite impressive. Though the supposed 5.9'' screen seems a bit too much. I've always thought the Nexus lines were lower-high end phones with a good value. The stock Android also gave it an appeal. But looking at the supposed specs of the Nexus 6, makes it up there with the best phones.

They can. You can do it yourself if you have Find My iPhone or Android Device Manager.

Oh i love phones. I did work at a phone/app company for a while Smile but i would go out and buy a nexus now if it had expandable memory.

HTC m8 is an 800 dollar phone but you are right, its a lot more pricey than the nexus. Though, i reckon the nexus 6 will cost about the same anyway.

People who prefer stock android are very stupid, most likely hipsters who want to differntiate themselves. Does pretending a phone having less features makes it better make you feel better?

Well i prefer stock to the bloatware of other phones. Vanilla android is fantastic, and you can do anything you want with it. The Samsung OS is absolute garbage in my factual opinion.

I think he is talking about the rom, which is stuff like Cyanogen mod.  I'm not sure exactly how it works but it either replaces the Stock os on the phone or it just layers itself over the stock OS. (it wouldn't really make sense to overlay the stock OS but it would probably help makes thing easier.) There is a lot of them and if made correctly, they can enhances the phone to do stuff like get better battery life and give the user more control over everything. Its one of the biggest things about android, customizability but i don't agree with RR, there is a certain charm to stock android but i don't know if i could keep it for too long.I know a mate who made his android have the screens of a windows phone.

Depends what you're comparing it to, the various manufactures add their own wonderful features to phones. Samsung's OS has multi-window, scrolling with your eyes, a screen that stays on when you're looking at it, a superior music player, a remote control that will work on any TV, a heart monitor and an ultra power saving mode to name a few. HTC phones have the nicest clock widgets available. Nexus phones have none of that, and they have almost nothing that you can't get on a Samsung phone.

You can do anything you want with it? Alright then, good luck getting multi-window working on stock android. I have a Nexus 10 and there's so much shit on that that you can't do compared to even my S5, let alone proper Samsung tablets. When you find out how to get all the wonderful features of the Samsung OS on stock android let me know.

I am not a fan of the UI. We had a Samsung tablet and i thought it was terrible.

The new android OS will probably support multi-window soon. Multi-tasking is already pretty easy anyway. I personally don't need it on a phone at less than 5".

The eye scrolling sounds cool? How well does it work?

The other things sound a little gimmicky...

What are you talking about? The UI is almost identical. I don't use the Stylus, I don't even know if the one I used had one, I got it as a gift for a member of my family.

I hope it does, I frequently have YouTube videos on in the background on my phone and it pisses me off that I can't do it on my Nexus despite it being about four times the size. More likely I'll just bin it and get one with a proper OS though.

I don't use the eye scroll thing, the rest is very useful though, I fucking love the remote control feature.

The music player's better because you can change the track by gesturing at your phone and it's got all sorts of options for sorting and shuffling your music based on sound, time, chronology, you name it.
