How much is Andrew Carroll worth?

Liverpool paid 35 million for Andrew Carroll, son of Barbaro. Unfortunately, he was forced out of a team consisting of Jay Spearing, Jordan Henderson, and Charles Adam, and has linked up again with his drinking buddy Kevin Nolan at West Ham.

Reports are suggesting that Liverpool want 17 million for him, and Liverpool fans say that anything less than 12-15 million would be a terrible deal for the selling club. However, is Carroll even worth 5 million? He is always going to average 1 goal every 3/4 games, and his injury record means he will probably only play 25-30 league matches a season. Should clubs really pay more than 5 million for a player who is going to get 7-9 league goals a season, especially when this player is supposed to be your main goal threat?

Not much, although i hope a team like Stoke/West Ham will pay over the odds for him

I don't think I'd pay much more than £10m for him. Think he'd be a good permanent signing for West Ham, if they can afford him. Don't think even he could do much at Stoke the way they're playing recently.

I've always had a thought that he'd leave for about £8 million.

The rumoured clause, which is s£19m would be a horrible deal. Although Liverpool did say there was no such clause.s

12 million would be a fair estimate, hoping that a thug team values his style enough.

£10m sounds about right for him. Anything more is a bonus.

Even 10 million seems a bit much for him.

Hard to say, he'll probably end up costing more just because of the fee he cost last time. If he came from Liverpool without costing the £35m before I think he'd be £5-10m but as things are now maybe £10-15m is what he'd cost.

I do think he has a career in the Premier League ahead of him though, not as a main goal threat but as a Kevin Davies type of player.
