Not really. He was the best player in school. I wasn't even the best in my class. He was a cool guy. I'm happy for him.

Anyone with any football background could play comfortably in the MLS. I am certain about that.

Re: Chat Thread
The closest someone made it to being a pro in my school was getting into the Forest academy, getting a pro contract, but was then released 6 months later and ended up at Eastwood Town.
I always think people who moan about footballers wages in comparison to soldiers/nurses etc are absolute piss wizards. With a bit of hard work almost anyone can become a nurse/soldier.
To be a footballer you really do have to be one of the elite few. When I think of it this way, the furthest someone got from my school was being a pro at Forest for 6 months. For the local club I used to play for, the furthest someone made it is currently playing for Chesterfield in League 2, and they were actually linked with Liverpool and Everton in January. Then if you go further afield, and look at professional footballers born in Nottingham, then the best player is probably Tom Huddlestone or Jermaine Jenas, and I guess they'll be on wages between 30k-50k, which isn't exactly much for being the 2 best footballers out of one of the largest cities in the UK.

Ha, yeah. I'd love to see someone stump up footballer wages to Soldiers, you'd have to privatise the whole military.

Started watching Batman Beyond recently. Takes me back to my childhood. 1999 doesn't seem so long ago.

Re: Chat Thread
So my buddy will make a bet that he can eat 100 bags of crisps in 24 hours, £5 and loser covers the cost of crisps.
It's sort of a no lose bet for me because even if he succeeds I get to watch him suffer eating a ridiculous amount of crisps. Reckon he can do it though?

Re: Chat Thread
How big are the bags? There are about 150 calories for 1 oz, so if he is going for 1oz bags, it's 100*150=15,000 calories. That's really difficult.

Re: Chat Thread
Well he'll only be awake for about 16 hours so that will lessen his already low chances. Six bags every hour seems like way too much, I don't think he'll manage.

Re: Chat Thread
Yeah that sounds about right. I worked out the calories for the kind he'll eat and it'll be 18,000 which is probably impossible.

Yesterday, I ate 2 giant bags of M&M's, (which is like 3920 calories) by night time I felt like I was going to die and I'm a fat piece of shit.Zzonked wrote:Yeah that sounds about right. I worked out the calories for the kind he'll eat and it'll be 18,000 which is probably impossible.
