His foul started the first goal, and his dive set up the second. Good choice

Ramires didn't even dive, he slipped off the surface and I'm surprised Sz didn't even complain. No it was not a red as it wasn't the last man, Sagna and I think it was Vermalen was covering.luke. wrote:Not Ramires fault the ref didn't call a foul, even then it was a 50/50 so there was always going to be a challenge from Ramires. The penalty was always a penalty, and should have been a red.

But Luke just said that it was a foul and a red card. Who are we to disagree with him?

Nope it wasn't as there was players covering, stop being a cunt you know it wasn't a red card.luke. wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Ramires didn't even dive, he slipped off the surface and I'm surprised Sz didn't even complain. So you're saying it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity?
Look at it this way, would you be sitting there telling me that if it was Arsenal who'd won the penalty? Somehow I don't think so.

Your opinion is ridiculous. A studs-up challenge doesn't become justifiable just because it was a 50-50 challenge (which it wasn't). And the penalty was definitely contentious. Both Sky analysts said that it was a dive, so for you to just state that it was a foul as if it's an empirical fact is quite stupid.

My OPINION is ridiculous? Well that's ironic considering what you just said. It's my opinion.
I'm not justifying it, I said it's not down to Ramires whether or not the game continues. More blame should fall on Mertesacker & Sagna then anything else, can't just use Ramires as an excuse. The goal was highly avoidable even with the game carrying on.

How is it ironic? Opinions can be ridiculous, what's so difficult to fathom here?
And you did try to justify it:luke. wrote: even then it was a 50/50 so there was always going to be a challenge from Ramires.
And no one absolved Mertesacker and Sagna of any blame, several Arsenal fans have shown signs of disillusion with several players including the aforementioned two in this thread. That still doesn't change the fact that Chelsea got an unfair advantage in the build up to the first goal. Your points are meaningless and your opinion is ridiculous.

That's not a justification, he wasn't just going to stand there was he? As I said, it's down to the ref. We were a bit lucky there, but so were you with Sczeszny. It all evens itself out.
