Most important part of that game was the Giroud miss, followed by the Mata goal about 10 seconds later.

Not Ramires fault the ref didn't call a foul, even then it was a 50/50 so there was always going to be a challenge from Ramires. The penalty was always a penalty, and should have been a red.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure Jamie Redknapp and Gary Neville both agreed at half time that it was a dive?

Ramires didn't even dive, he slipped off the surface and I'm surprised Sz didn't even complain. No it was not a red as it wasn't the last man, Sagna and I think it was Vermalen was covering.

So you're saying it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity?

Look at it this way, would you be sitting there telling me that if it was Arsenal who'd won the penalty? Somehow I don't think so.

Your opinion is ridiculous. A studs-up challenge doesn't become justifiable just because it was a 50-50 challenge (which it wasn't). And the penalty was definitely contentious. Both Sky analysts said that it was a dive, so for you to just state that it was a foul as if it's an empirical fact is quite stupid.

Nope it wasn't as there was players covering, stop being a cunt you know it wasn't a red card.

My OPINION is ridiculous? Well that's ironic considering what you just said. It's my opinion.

I'm not justifying it, I said it's not down to Ramires whether or not the game continues. More blame should fall on Mertesacker & Sagna then anything else, can't just use Ramires as an excuse. The goal was highly avoidable even with the game carrying on.

How is it ironic? Opinions can be ridiculous, what's so difficult to fathom here?

And you did try to justify it:

And no one absolved Mertesacker and Sagna of any blame, several Arsenal fans have shown signs of disillusion with several players including the aforementioned two in this thread. That still doesn't change the fact that Chelsea got an unfair advantage in the build up to the first goal. Your points are meaningless and your opinion is ridiculous.

That's not a justification, he wasn't just going to stand there was he? As I said, it's down to the ref. We were a bit lucky there, but so were you with Sczeszny. It all evens itself out.

Yeah, he should have just stood there considering he didn't have much of a chance of winning that tackle. Also, he stepped on Coquelin's foot, which makes me think that there was some malicious intent rather than it being just a mistimed challenge.

And fuck that cliche of it all evening itself out. It clearly doesn't.

I don't think both agreed it was explicitly a dive, but more said he drew the foul on purpose. Like, he went out of his way to get contact and then went down. Kind of a dive, but you can see why the referee gave it.

Also, I think Luke is right in that, if it's given, it really should be a red. Maybe it shouldn't have been a penatly at all, but once it was it had to be a red imo.
