Steven Reid played for 45mins with a fractured fibula

West Brom midfielder Vin Diesel Steven Reid played for 45minutes against Arsenal with a broken leg, revealed manager Steve Clarke.

Reid went through the pain barrier during last month's clash with the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, but Albion had kept the extent of his injury under wraps - until now.

Clarke said: "We didn't realize the injury but it was a fractured fibula he got against Arsenal.

"He played for 45 minutes with a broken leg, which shows the character of the boy.

"I've put it out there because I want people to see the character of the boy.

"Sometimes people think 'Steven is always injured' but he has an incredible strong mental strength and he wants to play."

Noticed my hand had swollen to the size of a melon at half time though and my manager took me off and said I should go A&E which I did.
