I always go to the gym on my own too. None of my mates are members at the one i go to
Not bad mf, I feel like once I learn the ropes I'd rather go in my own time really, I'd prefer it.

Of course it's acceptable to go alone. If anything I think it's worse to go in a group, usually it's guys just arsing about if they're in a group. Obviously like one person helps as a spotter so you can push past failure, but it doesn't really matter.
I suggest only 3 days of weight lifting a week as a beginner, no point in being unrealistic or taking on too much, you'll probably just end up stopping. Divide the days into muscle groups and try and take them to failure every session. I recommend deadlifts, bench press and squats being on separate days and working forward from that if you want to make your own thing.
That's weird
Yeah, like I said to Forest once I get a rough idea what I'm doing I'll be fine. I was under the impression when benching or some shit you had to always have someone with you, so is that if you're lifting heavier shit?
Yeah I reckon 3 days would be perfect for me and that's what I plan on, could I still get those mirin' muscles doing that constantly too?
So on say the Monday I do biceps/triceps and shoulders?
Wednesday I do: back/chest/abs?
Friday: Legs?
I do public services and have a qualification in gym supervision or something so I do know a basic overview of this sort of thing, but those groups mentioned above would they be perfect for me to concentrate on?
