I think that Legolas's consistent outclassing of Gimli in the battles of Helms Deep and Pelennor Fields should see this argument off.

Fighting the monsters of the deep. So the Elves and the gods just had to deal with the surface. And not to mention their valiant and often successful efforts against dragons. None greater in the art of war, I choose to believe so.

Which worked so well with Smaug. What a Face

Glorfindel killed a Balrog by himself. One came to Moria and the dwarves had to hoof it. What a Face

I choose to see it as a poorly judged exaggeration to appeal to popular culture once they cast Legolas as the heartthrob and Gimli as the drunk, loudmouth fool. In the book, Gimli defeated Legolas in the battle of helms deep, despite the elf having a few hours headstart due to his longrange style.

Glorfindel was a god amongst elves, a hero of his age, he should not represent the rest, the ones who were so great in number they almost matched Morgoth for force, but still got butchered again and again.

For every Smaug and Erebor, there's a Gondolin. Corruption caused their downfall, not lack of ability.

Gondolion was betrayed though. The city would never had fallen if not for Maeglin's treachery.

The fact is that the dwaves shied away from the major battles in the first age unless it directly concerned them. It was elves and men who did the brunt of the saving of the world.

Kinda true. But as for the Balrog, being attacked from within, and so unexpected, that has the stamp of death.

And I say, Dain's Iron dwarves better kick serious ass, rather than it focusing on the elves and eagles.

In fairness, that matchup is ridiculously tight. Exhaustingly exhilarating, to put it lightly.

That is exactly the part master Kyro. I had many offers but I just kept punching the girls in the gooch to warn them off.

It's harder to pull on a Saturday. Girls are more classy. Students nights though? Different story
