Am I the only one who thinks that people are overreacting about this? Sure it's bad and he deserves a ban but yeah..I've seen much worse in football.

Probably because he's committed 3 seprate offences that you could all be sent off for, and he's only got a 3 match ban..Kuled wrote:Am I the only one who thinks that people are overreacting about this? Sure it's bad and he deserves a ban but yeah..I've seen much worse in football.

Well 2 to be fair, the second incident didn't seem all that bad.

He's still purposely elbowed him though, and moved his head back towards Shawcross'.jeb4eva wrote:Danny wrote:Probably because he's committed 3 seprate offences that you could all be sent off for, and he's only got a 3 match ban..

Even if you think it's only 2 incidents, he's got away with it big time.

Re: Fellaini 3 match ban
If you think about it this way: If the ref saw it and sent him off he'd be looking at a 3 game ban so I wouldn't have expected any more than that in all honesty.

Because what he did cannot be defended as part of football. It's assault and he's lucky the police didn't get involved.
A filthy two footed tackle can be put down to poor judgement when trying to tackle.
Fellaini fucking nutted him when the ball wasn't even in play.
He's very lucky.

Well it is assault, police bit is slightly far considering this sort of thing has happened before but if it wasn't on a football pitch then yeah, especially when done repeatedly..

I just have a funny image of the Police trying to duck his head down to put him in the car. Either way it's a bit far fetched to have the police involved..

Are you lot serious?

If Shawcross wanted to press charges Fellaini would have been done. It's assault. Being on a football pitch doesn't change that.

The sad thing is, it makes a huge difference that they're on the pitch competing in the Premier League.CollieBuddz wrote:Being on a football pitch doesn't change that.

What Fellani did was less severe.

Yes, but the jailed guy had a better defence in that it was a tackle.
The ball wasn't in play when Fellaini nutted Shawcross.
If a tackle can be punished by the police, an assault can be as well.

So you would want more players getting jailed for tackling and other various things that happen on the pitch?

No I wouldn't. I'd never want the police involved.
I was just using it as an example of why a 3 match ban is an extremely light punishment.
