I suppose it makes sense for early acceptance to come in now if you submitted it a couple months ago. Don't understand why we don't do early admissions until December 1st, seeing how they only use our grade 11 (year 11, whatever you guys call it) marks anyway.SBSP wrote:They choose early decision. Basically they get accepted earlier, but they are required to go to that school.Jorlung wrote:Our dead-line for uni applications is like January 16th or something, and you find out whether you're accepted or not in like July/August. How does university even work for you guys, how are you getting your acceptance letters now?

Re: Chat Thread
Finals in 2 days. Today I reviewed/learned separable eqns, linear first order with integrating factor, exact(which I don't really I understand, I wrote down the steps and do it mechanically each time), variation of parameters, undetermined coefficients and Cauchy Euler. My plan is do do all of Laplace transforms tomorrows and Fourier series. Then I have a day to just do past exam questions.
I'm probably screwing myself over because I have circuits the day after.

I've heard circuits is hell, is that true? What are you taking by the way?

Ok now build me a robot.

It's really not, at least my course. It gets a bit difficult in the end with second order circuits but its really not that bad. Midterm average for my class was like 85%Jorlung wrote:I've heard circuits is hell, is that true? What are you taking by the way?

I was watching some videos of his, that feel when you understand what do to do and you know the move he's going to make before he does.Glen Damon wrote:He is a remarkably good and efficient teacher.Dagbon wrote:PatrickJMT da gawd

And then he pulls out some random trigonometry identity that you have never heard of.Dagbon wrote:I was watching some videos of his, that feel when you understand what do to do and you know the move he's going to make before he does.Glen Damon wrote:He is a remarkably good and efficient teacher.

God I hate trig, trig identities in particular. When you have to integrate or differentiate them

Damn. That's some workload.
I don't know if this helps, but for the concept of exact ODE's relies on the existence of the mixed second order partials being continuous at a point, thus being the same. If it's not, then there's no guarantee that retracing your steps by integrating makes you end up in the same starting place.
It's like if you and a friend claim you both starting from the same position and walked a variation of the same route (you went west 50 meters then north 50 meters whle your friend when north 50 meters and west 50 meters) but ended up in different places. Once has to conclude that you didn't start from the same position.

Re: Chat Thread
Bro, the only way I understand it is you do (...)dx <- differentiate with respect to y and (...)dy<- differentiate wrt x. If they're equal it's exact. Then you do some fancy shit with h(y) and set it equal to a constant.

Reminds me of this Physics major I know. Thought he was all up in the theoretical spectrum, when one day the dude rolls up with this robot he helped build that solves a Rubix cube. He was holding out on me.

When you're sat at home doing an art project for chemistry, you have to wonder what type of AP class you're taking.

Like when I had to write an essay for, not one, but two Physics classes.

I'm bomb at essays. Should've been a writer. Maths alright I suppose.

I actually like - and am pretty good at - writing in general, but those two essays were basically research on the history of Physics. Negative interest rating.

Re: Chat Thread
so this morning I should have gone to work and didn't go because I didn't want to and my dad was mad
anyway kyro sent me on a guilt trip made me feel like a right cunt
turns out I was right not going, they had a health and safety officer there and had I been in the factory they would have received a fine because I don't have the proper training to be in the factory
because of what happened I'm getting paid for a full days work for not getting them a fine

Re: Chat Thread
I love writing essays and reports as well. Which is kind of weird because I used to hate those assignments in school.

Nope, second year of college, or tech, as it's well known.
