Kaka focused on friendlies Empty Kaka focused on friendlies

His first time back with Brazil's national team since 2010, Real Madrid midfielder Kaka said he was focused only on the upcoming World Cup tune-ups vs. Iraq and Poland.

"It is a new beginning, I am happy to be back," said Kaka during a press conference in Poland with Brazil's national team regarding the match against Iraq on Thursday in Sweden as well as next Tuesday's test against Japan in Poland.

Regarding his continued presence on Brazil's Selecao, Kaka was vague.

"I have to be calm," he said in response to rumors that Brazil coach Mano Menezes included Kaka in the October matches under pressure to leave the top Brazil league players at home as league season heats up. "I can't think about the World Cup now at the moment at which I am just returning to the team after 2 1/2 years out."

Menezes called Kaka up for last year's friendlies, but the 30-year-old did not play due to injuries. On the team this week, he will be joined by his Real Madrid teammates Marcelo, Barcelona's Adriano, Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves and Santos star Neymar. Barcelona right back Daniel Alves and FC Porto left back Alex Sandro have been released due to injuries.

Menezes called up one player from each Brazil league team to maintain league balance with the season in play.

Brazil is not playing any World Cup qualifiers because it will host the tournament in 2014.

Kaka, 30, was named the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007 after helping Milan to glory in the Champions League, and Madrid broke the world transfer record when taking him to the Bernabeu in June 2009.

Kaka is rather lucky that Brazil is hosting the World Cup so he can get this 2nd chance to play for the national team. Right now I doubt thiey would have called him up for an actual qualifier. I find that taking one guy from each team in the national league is quite cleaver since the league is about to wrap up for the season.
