Re: The Playmaker Blog.
That main image in the middle works as a slideshow, so you could have 2 or 3 featured articles on the home page

Yeah, it's nice.Harrold wrote:I like it.
I'll try and write an article over the weekend. How many words min/max do you want the entries to be?

Re: The Playmaker Blog.
Harrold would you like me to do an overview of each round of fixtures in the PL? I could also chip in with a focus on Chelsea?

Re: The Playmaker Blog.
What sort of articles do you want? Transfer news? Match reports? What else?
Is there a min/max amount of articles you can post? Like if you wrote 3 in a day, would you put them all up?

I can't be having a Kopite or manc ruin my bias for Everton.

I think there's room for as many as you want but if we're keeping the 2nd layout, only a handful can be featured at the same time. But with more articles overall I'd be able to add an archive/categories of all the posts made.

If it picked up it'd be nice to have one for each club a week.

Re: The Playmaker Blog.
Harrold, shall I go ahead and apply the new theme to the main blog?
EDIT: Also, it might be a good idea to remove any association to the forum for now considering registration is closed and whatnot.

Re: The Playmaker Blog.
Just a quick question having read through some of the responses, is this blog designed to be club based, where people submit updates and weekly news on their club, or is it more general, with entries being on anything to do with football.

All of that for your chosen subject would be great. Any major news really.Jelavić7|EFC wrote:What sort of articles do you want? Transfer news? Match reports? What else?

I think general would be better but that's just my 2 cents

I think having people have a certain subject stops people writing impulsive articles and then haing two people writing on the same subject?Pico wrote:ayvee1 wrote:Just a quick question having read through some of the responses, is this blog designed to be club based, where people submit updates and weekly news on their club, or is it more general, with entries being on anything to do with football.

Surely it has to be somewhat formal, sir. I mean you don't want to be calling players wastemen ect

Re: The Playmaker Blog.
Yeah that's sort of what I was thinking. I asked because I was thinking that I wouldn't like to see an informative article on goal-line technology, or about why the German league is so well attended or *blah blah*(just examples) being swamped by articles about what club 'X' has been up to over the past week or matchday reports.Pico wrote:ayvee1 wrote:Just a quick question having read through some of the responses, is this blog designed to be club based, where people submit updates and weekly news on their club, or is it more general, with entries being on anything to do with football.

I think both sorts of articles would be ideal to have. You can have regular updates about certain topics, while people can do one-off feature articles (like what ayvee said e.g. goal line technology & whatnot)
Right now the more content we have, the better. That said, posting everything at once wouldn't be a good idea either If people want to do regular updates on their chosen topics, maybe make it weekly or monthly.

Any sort of one-offs I think would be wise to run it by just to stop 2 or more people writing about it. Unless like the Goal-line technology it's opposing views.

For people writing articles you can submit them by sending them to Blog@the-playmaker.com so they can enter the reviewing stage.

+ if you want to include images (including a feature image [minimum width 960px] in case it gets onto the main page ) add those too.
