Yeah, actually... Utah did it as recently as 2012.

I'm sure that was because it was an option when he was convicted.

I also got the year wrong. It was in 2010.

He is facing the death penalty, but as far as I am aware, they will speak to the victims of the family first. I never knew it was like that, so his punishment is sort of in their hands? i.e. he goes to jail for life, or dies? Was listening to an interview from some Police chief or something.

The thing is, in prison he'll probably commit suicide anyway.
