I don't know how it works in England, or large built-up cities etc. But I assume that there are amateur, grassroots leagues in your local area/region etc. I'm just wondering if you actually follow your local leagues.
Some of you may think that, being a Coleraine fan, I am following my local team. But that's not true. My family and I are Coleraine followers due to family ties in that area, but they are located in the North-West of Northern Ireland, and we all live in the South-West.
I used to never give a toss about the local leagues down here, used to criticise the standard, organisation etc. It was not until I got involved in coaching at a local youth team at the start of the year that I began to take an interest in football locally. Since then I've been keeping an eye on results, league tables, taken in a couple of games when I've had no Coleraine commitments and hopefully I am getting involved in the senior football side with my local team for the new season.
This isn't an official website, but if you're interested, you can look at the league tables and all here:

I won't slag anyone for not following their local league, as only recently have I began to take an interest.
