France were pretty poor though so you could excuse that one.

He done it in the champions league and in the world cup so it's fine, Zidane wasn't that fantastic over a league season and he's considered the best to some people.

i agree but i think xavi also has qualities that are better then pirlo and then vice versa. i think both are a step infront of every other midfielder that occupies role of regista to opportunist central midfielder
Yeah I'd rather Xavi but Pirlo's long passing. wank 2

He was making a serious point about Hodgson's ineptitude in not sticking someone on Pirlo. Pirlo played so well largely because England let him.

I don't think we could have made it any easier for him, he was hardly being closed down for 90 minutes and had all the time he needed on the ball.

Speed has never been a part of Pirlo's game. He uses his brilliance to shit on opponents.

Even if England were to have pressured him, he would of still made an impact on the game. Pirlo intelligent movements make him almost impossible to mark (similar to Xavi). He still played a big part in the game against Spain. A much, much better team that did put pressure on him.

I'd say that he, and Xavi are the best center-mids of the past 20 years.
