The player you all circle jerk (Van Persie) didn't start off great on his English career either, nor did Henry (although he did score goals, but missed a lot also and was playing a new position). Point is, it was his first season give him time.

Average is never good enough, Van Persie was 21 when he first came to Arsenal and Henry was what 21 too? Gervinho is 24 or 25. Mata, Ba, Cisse, Aguero, Hernandez, Van Der Vaart and probably others over the last 2 years have came and done very well most at similar prices to Gervinho's.. it's no excuse.
