Yes.
As far as i'm aware nothing will ever exist again after i'm dead. If I don't exist, nothing does.

Re: Are you scared of dying?
Well to answer the question I'd say yes just because it is really ultimately unknown what lies beyond.

Re: Are you scared of dying?
Only immoral/irreligious cowards should be afraid of death. They fear that there might be a chance that their actions and lack of faith in this world will have negative, eternal consequences. Or they don't want to feel insignificant.

Re: Are you scared of dying?
I can't remember who said it, or exactly how it went, but I heard a good quote on this subject recently; 'There is no need to fear death. If you are alive, you are not dead. If you are dead, it doesn't matter anyway.' (paraphrased).
As for my own answer, I can say I honestly don't think about death enough to fear it. The thought of it doesn't affect me right now. Having said that, I obviously don't want to die.

If you live thinking about death then you're not trying hard enough I'll worry about that bridge when I get to it, for now, if it happens I'm not expecting it, so im not fearing it

No.
Why else would you fear death then? If you believe there is an afterlife, you would fear death if you think the afterlife will be bad. If you don't believe anything will happen after you die and are still scared, than you fell insignificant. Provide me another explanation and I might agree.

My dad told me that quote when I was a kid and I've never forgot it.ayvee1 wrote:I can't remember who said it, or exactly how it went, but I heard a good quote on this subject recently; 'There is no need to fear death. I think a lot of people are scared about how they will die rather than death itself, for example if I'm going to die in my sleep then yeah I dont care but I'm going to have to through months of agony with something like cancer then yeah I'm terrified.

That's not really fear of death. That's fear of the pain (i.e. disease, getting stabbed, shot, etc.).

True but I think it fits in with the whole death thing.

I think that some people originally have a fear of death, or something similar (e.g. they want to believe someone greater is looking after them w/e) and that fear turns into real belief that a God exists. I generally do believe that religion as a whole has come from ignorance, fear and wishful thinking.
You also have to consider that even if you believe....a lot of people still fear death. Maybe not because of what will happen to them, but to others.....or like you said if they believe it will be bad for them.
Also don't really agree that being scared of death when you don't believe means that you feel insignificant, in fact I doubt that really matters to most at all. Some people will think "people won't remember me", but ultimately I think the thought of nothingness does scare a lot of people, religious or not. It's impossible to imagine or comprehend.
---------------
Personally I wouldn't say I'm scared of death. Am I scared of dying? Yes...but that's different entirely. Death is after you are dead...I believe that nothing will happen, my existence ends.... I won't feel or do anything so might as well just accept it for what it is.
But I would say that I don't want to die....any sane person is the same. I have stuff to live for...I much prefer existing.

Assuming you are a Muslim, this statement is not indicative of the correct manner to view death.

Re: Are you scared of dying?
I don't fear being dead, I fear the process of getting killed. Like I don't mind if I die, well I do mind because I don't want to but I'm not like shitting myself at the prospect of dying. I'm merely worried about how I will die, like I don't want to feel pain when I die.

Nothing happens after you die so of course normal, sane people would fear death. I won't enjoy the feeling of being drunk or fucking again. I fear that.
