Despite losing 2-0 at Racing FC Union Lëtzebuerg at the weekend, the defending champions F91 Dudelange celebrated their tenth Luxembourger First Division title in 13 years.
Dudelange have moved into double figures for Luxembourger titles
F91 Dudelange completed a successful defence of their title by winning the Luxembourger First Division for the tenth time in 13 years on Sunday.
Despite losing their final league match 2-0 against Racing FC Union Lëtzebuerg, Philippe Didier's charges held on to their crown as second-placed AS Jeunesse Esch lost 3-0 at CS Pétange. The 28-times winners finished their campaign three points off the league summit.
Dudelange were awarded the trophy amid scenes of jubilation and relief at the Stade Achille Hammerel, as the 2011/12 champions pondered a return to next season’s UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign.
Another league has finished and Dudelange finished the season 16-6-4 with 67 goals for and 20 goals against.
