There are a few graphic ones in the book, so I can see why they included them. Maybe it's just a way to get the show more attention though. I mean the first episode is basically porn, suggesting they included as much sex as possible to make sure it was continued past the pilot.

Okay just finished part two of book 3, the ending twist got me. Did not expect that in the slightest.
I've heard people say book 3 part 2 is the best one. Definitely the best of the first 3, think it would take a lot to top it in the next two but I'm going to start tomorrow.

I would hope that he would have put it in spoiler tags.

- Spoiler:
- Cat Stark being alive. Lysa Arryn getting kilt was quite surprising too.

Did not know that, thought you'd read them all. I probably would have spoiled something given time if you hadn't said that.

I probably should be done them all. I've been on this book for about 2 months now. A combination of schoolwork and laziness on my part has led to this delay.

Also I have a habit of google imaging characters that aren't in the show just to see some artwork for them and get a nice picture in my head. I need to stop though because I just did it and think I spoiled something for myself. Not going to say what just in case I'm wrong though.
It's such an effort not to spoil the series haha.

I've finished book 3 in 8 days. Combination of nothing to do and the red wedding making me want to read the whole thing as fast as possible.

I might try and get some discipline back in my blood and finish this book by tomorrow. We'll see.

Be warned, A Feast for Crows is the hardest read

I might not even read that until next year. I have so many other books I want to read and these things clog up a few weeks each.

Just downloaded it now and had a glance at the chapter titles (didn't look in detail in case it had spoilers for who is alive by the end) and it certainly seems like there are some interesting protagonists. The prior books have stuck to a few different characters, this one seems to have some one offs and new focuses. I am looking forward to it.

AFFC has some interesting things in it, problem is that Jon/Dany/Tyrion aren't in it and there is wayyyyyyyy to much Brienne ("I'm looking for a maid of three and ten..."

My favorite sex scenes was with Drogo being a brute.

I'm going to watch the new episode with my friend who hasn't read the books. I'm looking forward to watching his reaction.

Not sure how I liked that his wife and the Blackfish were at the wedding on the TV show. I assume the convenient outdoor urination of the Blackfish let him escape back to Riverrun, but they might as well have just left him there.

Question though.. Did Jon really plan on betrayin those people all along? And..is he really leaving that chick behind?

Since you're in the book thread, I'm guessing you want the full story. I'll put it in spoiler anyway.
- Spoiler:
- Yes, he planned to betray them all along. Him killing Mance Rader was a way for him to both survive and enter the Wildings as a mole of sorts. Yes to your second question as well. They do meet again, albeit in tragic circumstances.

Nice shit. Yeah the whole time I felt as though he wasn't really commited to them..but I thought it was just his shit acting. I'm liking his mindset, becoming more badass.
One night I Wiki'd the entire book series for like 4 hours..so I'm a bit hit and miss.
Thanks for the info.
Does banging that girl ruin his vow though?

Weak. Show some stomach and devote the 120 necessary hours to read the books.Phadunkin Donuts wrote:

Don't remember the specifics but he comes up with some way to justify it to himself. Should mention that the whole Quorin death (not Mance like I said before) and being a mole was all Quorin's idea.

I don't think Jon actually argues much, but they are just more lenient on that part of the vow. Some of the officers attend nearby brothels, so it's not a huge deal.

Jesus fuck, A Storm of Swords is crazy. There are so many moments that could be good enough for episode 9 of next season. One complaint I have though is:
- Spoiler:
- Why does Tyrion find Shae in his father's bed? That completely contradicts everything we've come to know about Tywin. It kind of seemed like a weak attempt to justify Tyrion killing him.
Also, in the show they've made Shae out to be hugely devoted to Tyrion and even unwilling to take a large sum of money from Varys to escape the city. How then are they going to have her betray Tyrion in the utterly disgusting way that she does?

- Spoiler:
- I think TV Shae is going to be all pissed off because Tyrion married Sansa and tried to send her off. It's probably one of the most different characters between the TV and the book tbh, other than Osha. I liked how in the book she was like "Oh, let me just be your whore then giggle" and on TV that line changed to "Okay! I guess I'm just your whore then am I?!". It's more of a weak reason to betray him on TV, it seems like she's just being a hormonal woman when it's pretty obvious Tyrion is trying to protect her.
As for Shae in his bed, I guess it just proved he was human after all. They do say he loved his wife and I guess she's been dead for a long time. He put on a big facade about being completely cold I guess the point is. Either way, he killed him because he kept calling Joanna a whore.
