That's a nice, lofty perch you have there.

This is a tough one to call. Chelsea are on great form at the moment and have a lot of confidence. And this is the type of game Liverpool will thrive in.

What was the score in that Carling Cup win? Was it a wide-margin victory?

This forum really does stoop to new lows every day.
It's pathetic that Scott called Mal a troll because he made a fucking match thread.

To be honest, it's not really a 'new low' is it?
It's standard Playmaker.

It finished 2-2 after extra time and then 3-2 to Liverpool on penalties.

Must have been a strong opponent. Which premiership team were they against?

The underdog mentality often prevails.

Also, by "the type of match Liverpool thrive in" I'm sure The Zlatan meant how we always seem to raise our game vs the likes of Chelsea/City/Man United in Cup games.
We beat United 2-1 in the FA Cup, we beat Chelsea 2-0 in the Carling Cup at their ground, we beat City 1-0 in the Carling Cup Semi-Final at their own ground and drew the home fixture 2-2 after dominating the game.

Were you playing for the league? europe?
No
You were playing for top 4 and a few cups which you didn't get so you changed focus to domestic cups

I refuse to believe that in a Cup match, particularly in the FA Cup, one team wants to win the game any more than the other.
Even in the Carling Cup, Man City players celebrated madly when they went 1-0 up and then 2-1 up. Then they looked gutted when we scored to make it 2-2 and when the final whistle went. Some of their players even collapsed to the ground, holding their heads in their hands with other players consoling each other.
Man United players celebrated like fuck at the final whistle when they beat us in the FA Cup last year 1-0.
So don't give me that bullshit.

What a complete sack of shit, why do you think lower league teams play so well with mediocre players? Because they want it more, you'd know if you've played any form of cup football.
Man City celebrated because they should have lost easily, not because it meant so much, you would have noticed that they did the same for every other time Hart bailed them out in the league. Also Man Utd beat their rivals, are they supposed to go home thinking it's nothing? no

Yes just as strong as that great Birmingham side that Arsenal could not even take to penalties, cup finals are great and even when you draw 2-2 and win 3-2 on penalties and even if you are lucky on day winning a cup final is good. maybe your club should try it sometime soon as its been a while.N wrote:Must have been a strong opponent. Wouldn't care about this too much if we manage to win the CL final. Would be great to get our hands on the FA Cup again though, the more trophies the better. Plus, it'd be great to see Liverpool lose in the final as well. Win-win... Win.

Liverpool will get annihilated.

I think Chelsea are favourites for the cup, as they have been looking so good lately and so powerful. Just hope the fact that Chelsea have to play Newcastle tomorrow and they will probably have a lot of players who will play in both games, and hopefully that can take something out of a few of them before saturday.
