Would this thread have been made if Arsenal were in the FA Cup still?

For me it goes;
CL > League > FA CUP >= Euorpa League > Carling cup
for top tier English teams.
CL > League > FA CUP >= Euorpa League > Carling cup

Yes but it has lost a lot of its prestige in recent years.
Our generation do tend to have a soft spot for it because it was a great competition in our younger years. It will be dead soon though.

It used to be, but it's gradually losing its magic, due to sides fielding reserve teams, the semis at Wembley and the cup final not being the final game of the league season.

It is for us lower league sides but a lot of the Premier League couldn't give a shit about it which is a shame.

Another anti-Liverpool thread which doesn't mention Liverpool.

Don't be silly, look at the winners of the Euorpa league recently and ask yourself, would they stand any chance at all of winning the Premier league?
The premier league is more difficult to win and probably more financially rewarding, although I haven't checked.

Yes it is, financially it's not very attractive though.

Two teams left in the Europa are in the semi final after beating the top two in England.

What the fuck are you on about?
That was a big game. Last year's FA Cup was shit as a whole. I didn't even watch the final when in the past I wouldn't have dreamed of missing it.

Obviously meant it to be about Liverpool though, as you're in the final and Arsenal aren't.

Re: Is the FA Cup a prestigious trophy?
I don't think so, it has some of its old feel to it with the replays rather than going into extra time but at times that seems like more of a nuisance than anything, might as well just add return matches sometimes. It awards just an Europa League spot, just like the Carling Cup, maybe that devalues it a bit. I wouldn't rate it above the Europa League though.
CL > PL > EL > FA Cup > Carling if we are sticking with that whole harder than thing.

I said its less prestigious, that doesn't mean no one cares about it. You need some brain cells.

I realize it was two legged, but any team can win in a one off game. Even wigan beat United once this season.Henrik's Tongue wrote:Zzonked wrote:

Atletico Bilbao > United
Napoli > City

That doesn't answer my question though does it? Would they stand any chance of being consistent enough to win the premier league? City have also lost to Swansea, United have lost to Blackburn, doesn't mean anything.
More financially rewarding, more difficult to win and almost definitely more worldwide coverage (proportionately in terms of the amount of games), yet somehow the Europa league has more prestige because, Bilbao beat United and Sporting beat City?

So that makes it more prestigious then?

Bilbao completely annihilated United over the two legs, and done more than enough to show who is the better side.
